The Blazers were definitely a disappointment in the playoffs, but I think Houston was just a bad matchup for them. As much as I'd like to pile on, I think Dins will end up having the last laugh a year or two from now if Portland manages to keep that core group together.

Portland will be a great team eventually if they keep the core here together. However, Oden will not be a part of the solution. He'll be a moderate role player at best. A little D and 6 fouls is all he will be worth. Sad 1st pick. Yet Dins will never admit. Even 10 years from now when he is on the damn Clippers making the league minimum.

Oden was just fine... in the regular season. All he really managed in the playoffs was to dish out a little abuse, but didn't have much else going on.
All in all, the season exceeded expectations, which is good.
And make no mistake -- this season a warning shot was fired across the bow of the NBA...
We're back.

Which is exactly what you want and expect from the #1 draft pick, right?
Bust.

Patience, Whitey. Sam Bowie's best year didn't come till his 5th year in the league.
