Unwanted immigrants are an issue that has vexed leaders since the first humans migrated out of the Great Rift Valley. 20 million people cannot be rounded up overnight without turning our country into a police state. Is that what you want?

1. Stop building it, and they won't come. Go after those that employ them, and you address the problem...because they won't come up if they can't work.

Nope, my contention is that one is equally useless without the other. And to provide for both on a border that size is to propose a monumental expenditure. It is real simple. You want to eliminate illegals, you have to crush the people who employ illegals. No jobs equals no reason to be here.

Secure the border and get the Fed to actually do its job.

Here in Prince William, VA the community took it upon itself to train local police how to do - the Feds job - as such the cost of training them, of the gas the vehicles the "task force" uses, etc. caused my property tax to go up.

My property tax went up while the value of my home went down.

To further the need to raise my property taxes, the illegals AND MANY LEGALS (who were probably housing illegals) beat feet out of the county. They no longer purchased local goods at 4-5% sales tax (all goods) within the county.

The net result. A big waste of fucking money and time.

Oh, and an increase in my taxes.


Swear 'em in, put 'em on the books, tax their ass like we're all taxed. That might solve the problem. Once we start taxing the illegals - now legal - they might not want to stay and they'll leave on their own accord.

Raiding beef,pork, chicken, etc. processing plants and fining the fuck out of people who pick up day workers at 7-11's is hardly a police state and it makes a lot of sense if you want to put a serious dent in that 20 million. Howsabout daily raids on seasonal farm worker camps/pick-up points until the employer and illegals get the fucking hint?

Give the laws some teeth and enforce the fuck out of them for 2 years and people are staying home instead of being jailed everytime they break the law.

Ironic, most Americans would prefer their government to actually enforce the law and prosecute employers that employ illegals. Yet, our elected representatives refuse to do so. So much so, that even as we speak, the Obama administration is rescinding the Social Security No-Match rules. This rule notifies employers of a mismatch between name and soc sec number and provides steps to the employer to take to gain safe harbor from being prosecuted for employing illegals.

This was the most basic tool for employers to use to identify possible ineligible workers, aka, illegals. This follows the Obama administration's efforts to castrate the E-Verify and delaying it's implementation three times already. Though it seems that E-Verify will now, finally, be implementedyet wil only apply to federal contractors.

The two are not equivalent programs...E-Verify only hits new hires while the no-match rule affected those already on the books. Besides, it's not like Boeing, Lockheed, etc are employing lots of illegals anyway.
