i've been making buckwheat pancakes the last couple Sundays which i usually pair with a couple scrambled eggs with cheddar and onions, couple slices of apple smoked bacon. for the pancakes, just a little drizzle of blackstrap molasses and ample honey and butter. good living.

well seeing as though Penn State beat Oregon State last year as well...probably less than a year or so since a Big 10 team beat a Pac 10 team
just sayin

Game of the year?? It might not even be the game of the week. Oklahoma @ Miami will be a better game.

Stop with the facts. toolio never allows those to enter his argument besides that game doesn't count because Oregon State had to travel.

Past 4 years
OSU is 1-1 W v U Dub, L v USC
PSU is 1-1 W v Oregon St L v USC
ILL is 0-3
Michigan is 0-2
MSU is 0-1
Minnesota is 0-1
Northwestern is 0-2
Purdue is 1-1
Wisconsin is 1-0
so there have been some victories there Toolio...guess since some of those have been out West it is the time change, flying 3k miles, etc...right?
hardly a huge sample here...but figured I'd inject some facts...

Yeah, but I said it wasn't true so therefore it must be my way because I said so.
Stop with the facts.

Cal/Oregon is a bigger game than Cal/SC because USC is going to be a 3-4 loss team this year.

JON, as much as I fucking hate $C there's no way they lose 3-4 games this year. I'd love to see it but that's just not going to happen.

I think it's very possible. They lost a lot. I know they've got a ton of talent, but you can't just go from being the best team in the nation (they were, I don't care that Florida won the title- SC would have beat them by 20) and lose what they did and not expect a dropoff. Plus, that schedule seems to be more difficult. Oregon could be a strong contender, as will Cal. Notre Dame is on the road, right? They'll be improved. I think there's a few losable games in there and it seems like Petey lays an egg against a mediocre team every year recently so there's always that possibility.

Jon, last year's team came into the season having lost four 1st rounders and ten players overall to the NFL draft, compared to three and eleven, this year.
At this time last year, people were saying the same thing about them, that nobody can lose what they did without suffering a dropoff.
I agree, though, that this could be the year they have their trainwreck 3-4 loss season.
The main reason is the early loss of Sanchez. Every other USC QB under Carroll played through their senior season, so their successor was well groomed for the job, by the time they had to step in. Each of those successors then came in and won big, in their first season.
With Sanchez leaving early, this creates a break in continuity. USC was supposed to have the best offense in the country this year, with the entire offense returning, minus one somewhat underachieving WR.
Instead, we now have inexperience at the one position where we would've been dominant, and it's obviously the most important position.
I'm not predicting three or four losses this season, but I'd say that if it's ever going to happen, this may be the year for it.
I think we'll have a pretty good clue, after the game at The Shoe. Certainly, nobody can expect 35-3 again, but if USC's offense looks comfortable in that environment, and USC wins that game, they're going to remain USC this year.
Remember, they're returning their entire O line, and nearly all their skill people. Their O line is projected to be USC's best ever under Carroll, and the best in the nation. Those guys are going to put a serious hurting on some people.
A dominant O line, with USC's RBs, those things alone can carry a team awfully far, plus they're going to have the best secondary in the nation, along with Florida.
Better beat 'em early, before they've had time to gel.

No doubt about that. If I recall correctly, don't you play most of your tough games relatively early? This was my basis for them losing a few games. Have a feeling USC will be very tough come season's end.

Do the players at feCal sign to play there because theyre only expected to show up for just 1 game a year or is it the atmosphere there in Lib Canyon that cultures the feCal players in to just showing up for 1 game a season?
