Fun with summer camp reports!

This is the time of the year where you don't want your team in the news, but if you're like me, you really want to hear what is going on with your team in 7 on 7's and summer workouts. So you're left with homer site reports. This is almost like BTCFB Mad Libs. Tell me who in here hasn't read something similar to the following:

Heard some news about what has been going on…

______ vs ______ in 7-on-7

Heard there is a distinct difference between the two. _____ is doing well, but ________ is looking fantastic. He is throwing the ball very well and his accuracy is where he separates from ______. _______ also has a better grasp of where the ball should go, but his ability to put the ball in the right spot is what really sets him apart.

____ is 2 deep at __, __, __, __, __. Very little drop-off and a lot of competition. Even the 3s have been impressive, but many are the freshmen.

__'s are very solid group. No comparison between the talent 2 years ago and now. _______ is on another level… an absolute stud. _______ is as good as expected.

_________ has the edge for the third WR spot now and looks very good. Big pack of guys fighting for the next spot after that. _________ looks really good, but needs to work on his _______… if he improves there… he’ll be big time.

_________, as expected, looks fantastic. Heard ______ is playing well and healthy. Heard _______ is looking pretty good. They’ll miss _______, but not as big of a concern right now as long as they stay healthy. We’ll know more about ______ and ______ when they get into pads.

__________ could be the most impressive freshman on either side of the ball. Could make the biggest impact. Stands out like _______ did when he first arrived and when _________ first arrived. Be surprised if he doesn’t see the field even with the depth __ has. Heard he isn’t just a ________. He can play ______ too. He runs good routes, he’s quick and he has very good hands. He can make cuts at full speed and he’s difficult to cover. Brings unique ability to the team.

As I has mentioned in an article, ________ has put on some weight, maybe a little too much… heard he’s big, and might need to slim down.

__________ looks great and should have a huge year.

_________ is a beast… “can’t even explain it”. __ is loaded with talent and very athletic.

__________ is looking very good. Very athletic, similar to ____________, but bigger frame.

__________ is as good as advertised. He can run around as good as anyone… he flies around. He does need to learn the _______ a little better, but that shouldn’t be a problem… know more about that once they put on pads.

_______ is one of the most athletic guys on the team… again we’ll see where that goes once they get pads on, but he looks great.

________ is loaded with ___… like __ just a huge upgrade in talent compared to a couple years ago when guys like _______ never came off the field. This year they’ll rotate freely.

_______, ______ are #1. ______ looks great…smooth as ever. _________ and _______ are the other two right now… ___________ has an internship and has to work while they’ve been working on 7-on-7s. ____________ is doing a solid job at _______.

__________ and __________ are the 1s at ____.

Team has a “World against us” mentality, and know that they have something to prove, because they get the feeling that everybody hates them, disrespects and wants to see them fail… everybody is counting them out. They have a chip on their shoulder.

The offensive and defensive line situation is tough to get anything on right now because they aren’t in pads… but the ________ is very athletic. ____________ could start anywhere.

Buff fans are hoping for Tyler Hanson to unseat Cody Hawkins but having been to the Spring Game Cody is the guy. even the coach-speak in the papers is all about "decision-making" and putting more "audibles at the LOS" which is all code for Cody. Hansen has a nice set of wheels but doesn't really throw it that well to be honest.]

Cody is an all-timer in 7 on 7. because the middle of the field isn't obstructed by the LOS and the big uglies. it's an interesting feature of watching CU scrimmage that they through a lot of balls over the middle and to the TE but you don't really see that in games.

a recurring mad libbish refrain from the Hawkins regime has been:

1. "this is the best week of practice since we've been here".
2. S&C conditioning coach ______________really has the guys looking faster and stronger than anytime since we've been here.

I don't really read many of the homer boards but when you hear the beat writers reports from Iowa camp, every year it's the same crap.....

"(quarterback) really looked shaky. This is a concern because the backups looked even worse"

"The offensive line got dominated by the D-line. This is an area of concern"

"(kicker) was missing a lot of chip shots. If games come down to special teams, Iowa could be in big trouble"

"Based on this ONE practice, I don't think they'll win a game. They're terrible"

Such is life in a fishbowl!
