Besides Bruce Smith...

...how many #1 overall picks in the NFL draft went on to become NFL HOF-ers?
Peyton Manning will certainly be one, but who's done it so far?
I've been watching the HOF induction ceremony all day today, and seeing Bruce Smith do his speech got me to wondering about this question.
There was O.J....
There was John Elway....
Joe Namath was the #1 pick of the AFL, but he was only the twelth pick for the NFL.
Wow, Jim Brown wasn't even a #1 pick.
Were there any others?

Earl Campbell, off the top of my head. Maybe Billy Sims. Drawing a blank on anyone else additional right now.

Campbell, yep. Sims isn't in the HOF.

What, that Aikman slipped my mind? So what? So did Earl Campbell. Is that supposed to mean anything?
No, I didn't recall them, not right off the top of my head. There are probably others we're missing, as well.
See, that is the point of the thread.

How about Jim Plunkett? I know he had a pretty checkered NFL career, but he was the starting QB on two Super Bowl winning teams, which places him in some pretty elite company. What's more, both of those came relatively late in his career (10th and 13th seasons, respectively).

This season needs to get here, quick. That, or people need to stock up on their tampons.

Sims Career was cut far too short because of the knee injury... he was well on his way there before his knee got blown out.

Underrated and underappreciated. However, not a HOFer. He's the only two time Super Bowl winning QB (as a starter) not in the HOF.

Besides Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger. Of course, Brady will be in the HOF eventually. Roethlisberger is less certain but appears headed in that direction.
Off the top of my head, the QB's who won two (or more) Supre Bowls as a starter:
Starr
Griese
Bradshaw
Staubach
Plunkett
Montana
Aikman
Elway
Brady
Roethlisberger
Beyond two, the list gets even more selective:
Bradshaw (4)
Montana (4)
Aikman (3)
Brady (3)

Okay, after reading Indy's list (why does that guy hate his own message board, anyway? It's like he's against the idea of people making posts and discussing things) I knew most of them.
The one I didn't know was Terry Bradshaw. I had no idea he was a #1 pick. For some reason I always thought of him as another lower round diamond in the rough guy, like a Tom Brady. Bradshaw was a #1 pick, out of Louisiana Tech?
Nope. Gotta admit, I definitely didn't know that one.
