I had to go to LA yesterday and was blocks away from this. Pretty peachy stuff. When I left San Diego county I knew I was screwed. The lovely smog and smell as we approached the city. The nice relaxing drive on the 405. The bums, nuts and illegals all over Westwood.
A man suspected of making threats against the White House was pulled from his car Thursday after an hours-long standoff in the parking lot of the Federal Building in West Los Angeles.
The man had refused to leave his red Volkswagen Beetle and withstood four rounds of chemical agents tossed inside the car after police broke a rear window. About an hour later, officers shot out the drivers window with a bean bag gun, used a Taser on the man and pulled him out.
Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan identified the suspect as Joseph Moshe, 56, of Los Angeles. Moshe is suspected of calling a police dispatch number Wednesday and making threatening statements about the White House, Donovan said.
Police pulled him from the car after he ignored repeated attempts to negotiate his surrender.
The Federal Building had been locked down since noon, and employees were told to stay inside, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.
Officers spotted Moshe's car around 10 a.m. near his home in the Westchester neighborhood and pursued him through the city's west side, police Det. Gus Villanueva said.
He drove around the federal building parking area once before a police SUV blocked his path as he tried to return to the street. Officers then surrounded his car with police cruisers and a large armored vehicle.
The man sat in the car smoking for hours before a robot broke a rear window of the car so officers could see inside, police Lt. Ruben de la Torre said.
Police did not know if the man was armed, he said.
Villanueva said Moshe was booked on two previous unrelated misdemeanor warrants but did not provide details. Officials later said he was taken to a hospital for observation.
Asked how the man was able to withstand multiple rounds of what appeared to be tear gas, Villanueva said some people are able to resist the chemicals.
"I can't explain that, there's no way to explain that," he said.

If you think the Governator or anyone other than the legislauture here are responsible for this clusterfuck, then you should stop getting your opinions from Maddow and Olberman. Those tools actually cut schools by billions more in order to continue socialist services to illegals andcareer welfare losers. They also refused to budge on former .com boom progams like state-funded apartments for seniors and the disabled...even if they had family to care for them. It's just fucking ridiculous. I have my son in after school care at his school, and it's state subsidized by 25%, even for parents like myself who can afford it at full price.
Oh, and one of the less-publicized (nationally) scams they pulled was to steal, errr..borrow billions in state taxes from cities, that funds firefighters and police, to continue the gov't handouts. They still can't fathom that there's no more money because the wealthy and big business have left the state in droves because of retarded taxation rates, leaving them holding a wallet full of steaming dog turds.

And some are too poor to pay for their child to play organized football. Is it really that hard for you to give each child an equal chance in the public arena? There's a lot of things about you state that might be fucked up, but giving each child an equal chance regardless of their parent's status is something I would be proud of, not pissed off about. That's the whole point behind having a public education system in the first place.

I have no problem with helping out kids, especially in sports. I have a problem with parents that don't pay simply because they would rather shop at Nordstroms and know someone else will pay for their kids. In my sons football program (the best school in the district) ultimately we don't require kids to pay. The district gives very little money to football. We ask for fees and if the family doesn't pay there is opportunity to work off the fees or fundraise. I have no problem with that. What you don't get is there would be more money to pay for sports if the state wasn't paying for all the other programs. Can't parents buy their kids a piece of fruit, cereal, and sandwich for breakfast and lunch? I sacrifice for my kids to have things and teach them about the things that really matter. I volunteer at their activities to show them what they do is important. It's these same parents who don't want to pay that flake out on showing up for their snack bar duty or think they simply don't have an obligation to help the program.

As a poor kid I played sports every fukking day, sometimes all day long. Not a fukking one of them was organized. As long as somebody had a football or a baseball, bat and a few gloves, we played our asses off. And we had a fukking blast.
And it didn't cost any gubmint a fukkin' nickle.

Rack that! But, I think we must consider how most of these poor kids come from dysfuctional homes. Expecting heads of those households to support their children in ANYTHING would be asking for a miracle.
Rack the kids who love the game enough to go at it all alone without mom or dad in the stands or generally giving two shits about anything they do. I think those kids have more desire and love for the game than all the "Conners, Coopers, Hunters, and Taylors" who have been poked and prodded and had all the support in the world including money from vacuous parents who think they got the next Brett Farve or Derek Jeter in the mini-van and use the kids' games to network and use socio-economic clout to lobby for more playing time for their brats.
