Iowa has played in a January Bowl 5 of the last 7 years and only 1 of those years has Sporting News Projected us to make it. Just sayin'......

I think 9-3 is a solid prediction but if they're 9-3 there is a 0% chance we aren't at least #18 in the polls. That's just dumb.

Also, at 9-3 there is a 0% chance we don't play in a January bowl in Florida. Shit, we were 8-4 last year and 7-4 in 2005 and we still played in a January Bowl because of how well we travel.

They're clueless. 9-3 I can agree with but the rest is just uninformed garbage. Typical sporting news.

No matter how bad... the Big One is.

It comes down to viewership and nothing more.(People on the west coast have other things to occupy their time with 70 degree weather in winter). It's just the benefit of being successful.

The PAC 10 has ZERO January 1st games due to tie in's.... while they have the better teams.

...occurs most every year on January 1st, in a bowl game of some note. It's actually the only bowl game of note that's still played on January 1st, and it has a rather conspicuous Pac 10 tie in.

Again, one wouldn't expect a Cal fan to even be aware of this particular game, or girls who look like that dancing in celebration of such a thing.
