I guess not all the experts share your enthusiasm on Cal's upcoming season.....
Team-by-team order of finish. From ESPN Insider......
So with a 3rd place finish, which bowl game in the south named after a popular yard trimming tool will Cal be attending this season?

1. USC

Best O-line, wideout (Damian Williams) and safety (Taylor Mays) west of the SEC. One big question remains: Is either QB (Aaron Corp or frosh Matt Barkley) ready for a BCS run? A guess: Yes.

2. Oregon

Speed all over for new coach Chip Kelly. QB Jeremiah Masoli could top the Pac-10 in total O, and three defensive jucos should make a fast impact. Helps to have USC and Cal both coming to Eugene.

3. California

Sure, RB Jahvid Best led the Pac-10 with 1,580 yards and 8.1 ypc last year. But he's now faced seven ranked teams in his career, and averaged 45 ypg in those games. No wonder Bears are 3-4 in those.

4. UCLA

No doubt about QB Kevin Prince's big arm. But big doubts about the big O-line (312 pounds per man) after big '08 lapses (seven three-sack games).

5. Oregon State

Bros Quizz and James Rodgers create migraines (3,333 total yards combined last year). DT Stephen Paea's 525-pound bench makes him a headache. The problem is the 13 starters lost.

6. Stanford

Frosh QB Andrew Luck had 5 TDs in spring game. With 15 returning starters around him, Stanford will go bowling for first time since Jim Harbaugh was on an NFL taxi squad (2001).

7. Arizona

Wildcats' No. 6 national red zone offense (92% success rate) loses all-time UA passer Willie Tuitama and receiver, Mike Thomas. But coaches think TE Rob Gronkowski could hit 100 catches.

8. Washington

How amazing an athlete is QB Jake Locker? So amazing that he's been picked in the MLB draft -- twice. But nobody's gone from 0-12 to a bowl game since 1999. Let's say 4-8 for UW.

9. Arizona State

Blue-chip LB Vontaze Burfict adds explosion to a D that should allow only 20 ppg. But the O-line's allowed 89 sacks in Dennis Erickson's two years.

10. Washington State

WR Jeshua Anderson is as fast an anybody in the Pac-10, with an NCAA title in the 400-meter hurdles to prove it. But Cougs' offense scored three points or less five times last year.

Ted Miller is tracking everything in the Pac-10 all season via ESPN.com's Pac-10 blog.

Cal has as good of a shot to win the Pac-10 as ANYONE in that league this year. m2 might be the biggest reject I've ever spoken to, but that doesn't mean they won't be a solid team this year.
