2009 Picks to click..........

I'm not the type that likes to puss away from predictions or won't stand behind my picks or claim that they made a prediction on something after the fact like many on here, so here's my picks for the upcoming season (note: as I've thought about it, I have changed some of my predictions from what I have earlier stated).........
Top 25........
1.Oklahoma- I really believe Stoops will get it done this year in the title game
2.Ohio State- I know this is the title game no one wants, but tOSU has a favorable schedule and their best shot to knock off USC. I think both OU and tOSU will go unbeaten.
3.California- I know m2 is a tool, but this team really does have a lot of potential and Oregon is their only tough road game and will be their only loss.
4.Florida- They're going to get knocked off somewhere. The breaks will not go their way every game like they have for so long. They'll still be very good, but they're going to miss Percy Harvin more than they think.
5.Oregon- They get USC and Cal at home. I would not be surprised to see them lose to Boise State to open the season and then run the table. It's possible.
6.Alabama- Another team with a tough opener (Va Tech) that could run the table after. Could also see them being 4-2 to start the year and finish off with a 6 game win streak.
7.Texas- Colt McCoy is going to be amongst the list of disappointing players in CFB this year. I think he really overachieved last year. But that's a loaded team. The only difference I see between them and OU is the RB's. OU has more weapons there.
8.Virginia Tech- Props to them for playing a brutal OOC schedule. I think the ACC is very weak and so I can see them losing a game OOC (perhaps to Bama) and still ending up 11-1 or 10-2, plus an ACC championship game win.
9.Boise State- Beat Oregon to start the year and it's back to the BCS for Boise. I have no idea who else they could lose to. Should be a double digit favorite in all the rest of their games.
10.Notre Dame- I still believe Weis was the right guy. The schedule is overall weak, and I could see them sneaking into the Top 10 simply on reputation.
11.Iowa- Call me a homer.....whatever. This team returns a lot of proven Big-10 caliber players and has as good of a shot as anyone to finish 2nd in the league!
12.Miami- There's too much talent at The U for them to not eventually get this thing turned around. Randy Shannon is a good coach, and they'll get it done this year.
13.Georgia- The biggest game of their season might hinge upon the opener vs Oklahoma State. Win that game and put yourself in a good position later in the season to make a run at the BCS. More likely a CapOne or Outback team, but a few breaks on Richt has them back in the BCS.......again.
14.Oklahoma State- Beat Georgia and start playing for the BCS. Lose to Georgia and start playing for the Cotton.
15.USC- This is the year the Trojans take a small step back. I know Barkley is allegedly the second coming, but he's a freshman and no team in the country has more difficult road games than USC. And a lot of those road games are in the first half of the year. I could see 3 losses for the Trojans.
16.Illinois- They're going to be a big surprise team this year. They're too talented not to. They'll still lose a game or 2 they shouldn't but they'll win a game or 2 you didn't expect them to. Juice is going to be a Heisman candidate.
17.Florida State- I'm not real confident in this pick. With their off field issues, it's either they go 5-7 or they win 9-10 games. Just depends if they use it as motivation or as a distraction. We shall see.
18.Kansas- Would have Nebraska here if the KU-NU game was in Lincoln. Reesing is a very underrated QB and he's experienced. Schedule plays out perfectly for a 9-10 win season.
19.Auburn- That defense is still going to be great, so if they can just get any improvement at QB, they can win 8-9 games. They will fade towards the end of the year but they'll start out 7-0 or 6-1.
20.Clemson- Relatively light schedule, should have one of the top defense's in the nation. CJ Spiller will run for over 1,100 yards.
21.Cincinnati- Tough non-conference schedule but they should be the best team in the Big East. 9-3 or 10-2 is very doable.
22.Ole Miss- They're a good team, I'm just not buying into their BCS hype. Gotta love Jevon Snead though and Houston Nutt is one of the best coaches in the country.
23.LSU- They're going to pull an upset against a team like Florida, but I'm still not completely sold on them on either side of the ball. If they can get some major QB improvement then I could see them winning 10 games.
24.Penn State- I'm just not sold on them completely. Good team, favorable schedule, but they will get torched in the secondary by any team that can throw the ball decent, the O-line returns just 2 starters, and they have no experience at WR. I love Darryl Clark, but who is he throwing to and who is blocking for him? If anything were to happen to Clark they will have a losing record.
25.North Carolina- Lot's of returning starters from a quality team. Better watch out for these guys in 2010. A sleeper national title team perhaps.
3 other teams to watch out for......
Michigan State, Arkansas, Pittsburgh
3 teams I'm not buying into their hype........
Oregon State, Nebraska, Georgia Tech
5 other crazy predictions........
1.Neither Tim Tebow or Colt McCoy will even be invited to New York for the Heisman award.
2.Notre Dame will make the BCS again because of reputation and not because they deserved it.
3.Sam Bradford will repeat as Heisman trophy winner, but Juice Williams will be his runner-up
4.Ohio State will go unbeaten in-spite of Terelle Pryor, not because of him.
5.Michigan will NOT get back to a bowl game this year, but they will come close. DickRod will start to feel the pressure......
The Heisman Finalists.....
1.Sam Bradford, QB Oklahoma
2.Juice Williams, QB Illinois
3.Dez Bryant, WR Oklahoma State
4.Jahvid Best, RB California
Ranking the conferences.....
1.SEC
2.Pac-10
3.Big-12
