I've done the same thing with mic stands while singing. I had one standing on it's own for nearly the entire length of "Whole Lotta Love" once. I may have been possessed by spirits at the time, but I can assure you that they were not holy. Nothing more than a nice bit of free pub for an imaginative shop owner.
