Why was she originally canned from her job in the first place? Since when can't a woman don a bikini to go out on a boat...in Florida?? She's on a boat, out on the water, on a sunny day. What's she supposed to wear in this instance, if not a bathing suit?

Is it because someone took pictures of her in a bikini? Again, since when is it grounds for termination for a woman on her own time - I assume this wasn't a school function - to pose for a few meh pictures on a boat? Probably every girl in her former class has similar pictures of themselves in bikinis, because...they're in Florida!

What reasonably attractive girl or woman who lives in sunny climes doesn't have pictures of themselves from some outing or another where she wore a bikini? That would include the obligatory 'unsnap your top so you don't get tanlines on your back while you're lying out on your stomach' thing, which is what most girls do.

I'm just wondering, where was her union? What were the grounds for termination? How did she not fight the termination, and win, if that's all they had on her?

There had to be more to the story than just some pictures of a teacher wearing a bikini on a boat, during her off day.

The school district/board alleges she was cut loose because of poor job performance/attendance chalking up more than 30 unexcused absenses. She had already been reprimanded twice. After a final unexcused absence, she was fired. They also claim that they knew nothing about the bikini gig until after she was fired.

If she had a leg to stand on she'd still be there. Fitting that she'll now earn her keep mostly on her back.
