Re: Whew! NCAA Clears Jones & Ingram
Crock of shit that they have been cleared in hours and Balogun's waiting period has now grown to weeks. Congrats though Sam... bullshit none the less. The one "witness" the NCAA had has recanted his statement and now says his last game was just before he was 21 in the semi-pro league he participated in before he went to JUCO combined with no fewer than six affidavits (from coaches and the ownership of the team) that he never played a game after 21 should have been enough to re-certify him immediately. I hope Balogun sues the shit out of the NCAA after the season.

I am talking about strictly the de-certification/re-certification process they went through, not the investigation itself.Sudden Sam wrote:Hours? I think it's time for the big schools to consider bailing outta the NCAA. I know it would be a huge, messy situation, but there has got to be a way of simplifying the rules, of speeding investigations into possible violations, etc. It would take every major conference agreeing to this and there would be a myriad of contracts and other legal entanglements to clear, but either a full-scale exodus or the threat of such needs to come about.
The CFA a few years back...what was that all about? Hell, I can't even remember. And I'm about to hit the road, so I ain't looking it up. Seems like it was a half-hearted shot across the NCAA's bow.
I'm 100% against cheating. I'm all for rules governing the sport. And my anger is not solely based on Alabama's recent screwups. It's simply time to try a new model. A new system. Something has to change.

Implementing a playoff gets top billing. Or should...
