in an early scene, Big Star's "I'm in love with girl" is playing. it's the last tune on Radio City, but is playing first cut on the turntable in the scene it's in.
bullshit nostalgia and inaccurate.
mediocre movie is further fakery enhanced by Husker Du's Candy Apple Grey and a lot of Lou Reed.
Big Star fakery in the movie Adventureland.

""On a lonely planet spinning its way toward damnation amid the fear and despair of a broken human race, who is left to fight for all that is good and pure and gets you smashed for under a fiver? Yes, it's the surprising adventures of me, Sir Digby Chicken-Caesar!"

They did something similar in Royal Tenebaums where She Smiles Sweetly leads to Ruby Tuesday on the record in the movie... but Ruby tuesday is before She Smiled Sweetly by a couple songs on the american version of the record.
but I think it goes better the way the tenenbaums movie has it.
