Thigpen nutswingers

There's actually more than a few Chiefs fans here that wanted Tyler Thigpen to have a "legit" shot at the starting QB yob for them.

Tonight's less than stellar performance by Thiggy should shut those rump rompers up for good:

2/7 for 49yds and 2 INTs (1 taken back to the house)

Hopefully Scott Pioli can still get a six-pack of Old Milwaukee for the guy in a trade....if not I hope he cuts Thiggy's ass TOMORROW. The guy sucks, period.

Hmmmm ...

Cassel is out for a few weeks -- at least, right?

So who do you want to QB the team?

B. Croyle?

Is that a better option than Thiggy?

It's pretty damn fun talking about Chief and Mule football these days.

Sayin'.

You mean like in a "hey... look at those two teams, they almost suck as bad as we do" kind of way?

Face it, the Chargers could go 6-10 and still win this division.

Perhaps Thigpen is struggling with the new offense. He was okay last year, certainly not awful. Cassel almost got cut during the preseason last year. I wouldn't cut Thigpen just yet... the last preseason game people are just going through the motions, just trying to avoid injury. Can't put too much stock in last night's performance.

AJ Feeley is available again.

Jeff George said he wants to play ball.

Word around town is, Feeley to New England for one of their numerous TEs. Not that you really need someone to start in front of Celek (I expect a breakout year), but Ingram's injury caused a need for depth.

They just fired their offensive coordinator on Monday, too. Yeah, that's the ticket. It couldn't be the complete void of talent. It must be the play calling.

2-14
Actually the play-calling was much more aggressive and they mixed in more shifting and motion last night. The Chiefs also ran the ball much better, no matter who carried the rock.

That's the rumor in Philly too.. a local radio hack hinted at a trade of Feeley and Reggie Brown for Alex Smith (and perhaps a draft pick?) I agree on Celek though he's not a great red zone threat which Ingram was supposed to be.

Good.... not that it really matter because if Brady goes down again, we're f'ed. However, it'b be nice someone other than a POS who couldn't even make the worst team in football's roster. Is is Andrew Walter or Walter Andrews? Fuck, I don't even know.... :waz:

Actually, if Hoyer keeps it up, I don't even see a need to trade for a back-up. Dude looked damned impressive against the scrubs last night.

Meanwhile against 3rd and 4th stringers Michael Vick looked like...... the same guy 2 years ago.. Still has the legs to run, cannon arm to throw and shit for brains between the ears.

We if he couldn't make the worst roster, there was no way he was making the Patriots. Thanks for participating.

Hey, if the Donks play the Bengals like they did against the Cardinals, they could possibly win. That might also mean starting a rookie at QB.

The Chefs will still end up 4th in the division though

But not as much fun as talking about the 'duhs routinely getting lit up for 38 points a game.

Where'd they finish last year?

What makes you think they'll be any better this year?

I watched the first half of that game - Branstetter looked pretty good.

There's a chance neither the Broncos, Raider or Chiefs win 4 games.

Brutal schedule for the west this season

It makes no difference what they did last year. NONE.
What makes you think they'll be any better this year?
Better coaching, better defense, better QB. No brainer.

Paul, you didn't answer my question.

If you're so eager for the team to CUT Thigpen, and with Cassel out for at least a few weeks, who do you want to QB the team?

Sounds like you want Brodie.

What am I missing?

Thigpin was a bad white version of Vick last season - minus the arm strength. The only reason he played was he didn't go IR like Brodie Frail the first time he was sacked.

Neither Thigpin or Croyle is NFL level starter or competent back up. Particularly with the swiss Cheese O-Line the Chefs have trotted out. The only way either would be serviceable if Cassel is out is from the shotgun or a 3 step drop thowing slants (I'd add outs but Thigpin doesn't have the arm strength for those either)

The Pats just cut andrew walter and he'd be an upgrade over either one - Same for Garcia if the Raiders cut him

Cassel will start against the Ravens on Opening Day. If it were me RIGHT NOW I'd cut/trade Thigpen, promote Gutierrez to 2nd string, and slot Croyle behind him.

I think he won't.

Not sure he'll be healthy, and even if he is, do you really want a half-gimp back there against the Raven defensive front?

Put one of the other slappies back there, let him take his licks, and take your L.

Seriously, why in God's name are we talking about the hapless no talent bottom feeders that is the Kansas City Chiefs? There at least 28 better teams out there that we could be jabbering over, but here we are discussing Matt Cassel's backup. Whoopty-freaking-doo.

What I'd love to see is the 'skins cut Chase Daniel and KC nab him. That would be like totally awesome.

Oh, and Rumps? Feel free to not open your dicksucker next time in a topic you don't feel deserves any attention

Wags I Hate to break this to you, but Chase is just a shorter version of Thigpin.

He could get away with the lack of arm strength in College and run the spread - except against OU - but that won't cut it in the NFL

Disagree, Scott.

Daniel is a pocket passer with a very accurate albeit "weak" arm. And he's looked pretty good so far in the NFL pre-season. I guarantee that if WAS dumps him (not likely), some other team with a need at QB (s'up, KC?) will pick him up.

Thigpen, otoh, is a squirrel who should never have even been on an NFL roster to begin with, much less a starter.

In 48 hours or less, he'll get picked up by another team, hopefully KC. He'd be an upgrade over Thigpen, IMO.

Yeah, pretty sure Huard would be an upgrade over Thigpen as well. And yes, we're desperate...

Wtf are YOU laffing about anyway, mulefan?

At least KC didn't trade a Pro-Bowl QB for a bag of deflated footballs and a used jockstrap like Kyle Orton.

The Raiders cut Jeff Garcia.

Starter for the Bucs last year.

Go get him.

I'm sure Chiefs GM Scott Egoli is furiously considering all of his options right now.

And yes, I stole "Egoli" from Jason Whitlock, whom I've never had much use for, but once in awhile he gets lucky.

Which one has played in a Super Bowl, Orton, or Guntler?

Which one couldn't win any of his last 4 games last year when just one win would have meant winning the division?

It was his last 3 games, and he put up 23 at home against the Bills ( 30-23 Loss) and 21 in San Diego in week 17 (53-21 loss).
He's a head case, but it was the Defense - or lack thereof that cost them the playoffs and Shanny's job

Don't think he'll start in Dungver, but he's a decent ... 40 yr old ... back-up.

Good fit for the system.

I could see it possibly happening down the road, pops. Orton has a significant injury- dislocated the tip of his forefinger and the end of the bone broke thru the skin. I don't see that healing to the point of being able to throw a football anytime soon- could even be a season ender. Simms is still gimpy, and even though Brandsteader looked great in the final exhibition game, I don't see McD going into the season with only 1-1/2 healthy QB's
