Off topic, E-bay question

Hey guys, got a question. I bought two tickets for the BC-ND game in October for me and my son. I have not received the tickets so I e-mailed the dude who I bought them from. He said he mailed them on August 13th. I never got them. I'm assuming they got lost in the mail. So I send the dude an e-mail and tell him that I'd kindly pay for replacement tickets. Well he offers to sell me two more tickets at 50 bucks less than I bought the first two. Since I've never done this e-bay stuff before what's the process to file a complaint, get new tickets, etc.....I'm into this trip over a grand already and my son is looking at the trip of a lifetime for himself. Any advice?
Thanks,

The reality is there's not much you can do. You're at his mercy, if the funds have already cleared into his account. If he doesn't make this right for you then your only option is simply to leave him negative feedback, at which point he'll do the same to you, unless he left positive feedback immediately upon receipt of payment.
See, from his end, if he did in fact send the tickets and they just got lost, he's wondering now whether you're just trying to scam him for two more tickets.

Someone told me that I can call pay pal and open an investigation. Do schools print duplicate tickets? If they're bar coded can't they just negate the original codes on the tickets than have the dude send me two more in the same seats?

You can contact PayPal and see about getting them to open an investigation, but PayPal has no means of providing restitution, not in a typical he said/she said situation like this would end up becoming.
How does this guy's feedback rating look? Does he have a high score, with a lot of transactions? If so, you're S.O.L.
Your only protection would've been to have the tickets sent by insured mail, requiring a signature upon receipt. It would've cost you a few bucks more, but it would've prevented this scenario.
You're probably going to just have to bite the bullet and buy another pair of tickets. If you go through this guy again - or anybody else, for that matter - make sure to get those things sent via insured mail/signature required, and get a confirmation number from the guy, just as soon as he sends them out.

When I asked him about it he said he sent then via US mail. He didn't answer when I asked him about insurance or return receipt. He said he's going to call the post office on Tuesday and get back to me. If not I'll contact pay pal and see if they can credit my credit card and I'll find tickets some other way.
Thanks guys.

Negative feedback the shit outta that guy.
If he mailed it to a wrong address or an invalid address, it's possible it just hasn't been returned to him yet. I had this problem with Outback Bowl tickets I bought off eBay a few years ago. They turned up a couple weeks later at his house as he wrote down an incorrect address.
Find out where this guy lives and if he refuses to give you a free pair of tickets...........kidnap his child, fuck his wife, burn down his house.........do something.
