We had to travel 2500 miles Welcome to National football pussy, you have to be able to travel the entire nation to play it
we went 2 time zones never heard of jet lag when you go West 2 time zones, your team arrived on Thursday for a Saturday Night kickoff, its not like you flew in to town on game day
They were at their best for this game isn't a team supposed to be at its best for every game?
They had all summer to prepare for us who did LSU play first? they had the same amount of practices to prepare for U Dub
Come on hat, give them their props, they're not La Monroe and they went 0-12 because they played real teams week in and week out last season and had a lot of injuries.

As much as m2 is fun to rag on because he's a pathetic loser, there is some truth to what he said.
Take a look at NFL records of teams traveling 3 time zones and you'll notice that the percentage of victories by those teams are very low in those games.
Is there a link stating LSU flew out on Thursday? Don't teams typically fly out on the Friday?

when youre making up lame excuses for your teams play, all the stuff you say positive about the other team is bullshit placations. He should be ashamed that his team doesnt travel that distance every year instead of playing all their OOC games at home. Has hat ever excused another teams play vs LSU because they traveled 2 time zones to play them?

Lame.
These games are scheduled years in advance, right? The time zones didn't exactly jump out of nowhere and throw them off their game plan. Traveling excuses, especially after the game is played, is exceptionally weak. I'm not saying the travel doesn't make an impact, but eeesh, keep your mouth shut about shit like that. As the coach and AD of a program you don't have to schedule these games if you have such a problem with them. Just stay home and play LA-Monroe.

Jsc,
Anytime a team either loses to or barely beats a team they should roll, you get the standard CYA post-game comments from the coach of the teamwho should have rolled. Tell me you knew.

All I'm saying is there's evidence based on NFL games where teams struggle when they play in games 3 time zones away and they have more time to adjust to the change in time than college teams do because they can arrive earlier in the week. Usually college teams can only show up a day early because of classes.
I will say though that there's probably more of an affect on college teams traveling out east than going from the east to the west coast because they lose a few hours of sleep and the games are typically played in the morning so I do not buy Les Myles' excuse here.

OK then.

I never said anything about hom not giving props. I'm saying just the opposite. He carried the company line by propping up a team he should have rolled to cover his team's lack of preparation/execution/coaching/etc. I wasn't making a blast towards you.

Yeah, and water is wet. We all know this. The point is you don't actually open your hole and complain about it ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR PROGRAM SCHEDULED THE GAME.

Tedford NEVER made an excuse for the loss on the east coast. It's just how Tedford rolls.
Now logical people that travel for a living (the truth) all know that traveling west to east is a mother... let alone landing the night before a game that starts at 9:00 am Pacific time. You couldn't have brain cell and not see how "out of it" the Cal team was after traveling 3,000 miles and getting less than 8 hours sleep before kick-off, and how they played once it was about 11:00 am Pacific time.
Maryland came out a couple of days early and the game was played where all "College Students" are peaking!!!
10:00 pm on a weekend.
Now asking a "College Student" to wake up at 6:00 am after traveling 3,000 miles on a bird and getting to a hotel at midnight is a whole other story.
52-13 against a 8 win bowl team tells you all you need to know.
Cal will be leaving a day early for the Minnesota game... and it will still be played at 9:00 am Pacific time... but, I don't think it can be used as an excuse being that they had a day to adjust.
LSU, actually had an advantage that the game was played at 9:00 pm local to them time... since that is bascially when "College Students" start to get their game on. Especially, after showing up 2 days early.
Jon Idiot, makes a good point in this thread and it should be heeded.

But should the need arise, you'll find another, equally lame excuse.

I see Cal blowing out Minnesota the same way they did Maryland.
Cal played the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th team for half the game against Maryland and it just got uglier.
They're that good.

Then you're covered and won't have any need for excuses, which is nice.

When did Baton Rouge become three times zones different than Seattle?
Jon must be Cal's travel secretary.

When all else fails, it's the refs' fault.

:? You sure? I thought Washington was in the Pac 10.
Miles shouldn't have said one word as far as excuses.
