Your incessant bitching about old music is no different than an older person turning their nose up at band you love for no other reason that it wasn't what they grew up with. Think about it.

Actually, bri, when a band appeared really has nothing to do with it.
suck is suck, be it 1971 or 2009. Just as talent is timeless. This is why there are more 15 year old LZ fans than there are 45 year old MGMT fans. hell, I'd be willing to bet there are more 15 y.o. Zep fans than there are total MGMT stone eared followers.

Van, you really ought not post a Vai video that closely to an SRV video. You can literally see the soul being sucked out of the texas flood by the for the love of god video. I think it's causing damage to my screen.
Nice thumping of toolio by the way with his own stick.

Yea, that's pretty much what I was trying to say. Although Screwy takes it one step further and has a particular hostility to older music that was actually popular in its time.

S_M, the thread starter offered up Danzig, yet you take issue with Zeppelin??
This same thread author has also repeatedly offered up Green Day, Three Doors Down, Third Eye Blind and Men Without Hats.
So, excuse me if I feel no need to apologize for one of the best and most influential bands of all time.
Oh, and nobody cares about them anymore? Tell that to concert promotors, who are adamant in their belief following the O2 show a year or so ago that if Led Zeppelin would ever give in and do another world tour it would far and away become the biggest grossing concert tour of all time, within moments of the tour dates being announced.
While you were busy being stupid you also missed the whole point of the specific narrative inclusions in this thread.
Good job, dude. Stellar showing.

Is anybody supposed to care whether you give a fuck? How is that the least bit relevant? Your original ignorance laden comment was that nobody cared about them anymore. Now it's turned into you telling us you used to like them, but they're no longer as good as they were thirty five years ago.
Ya' think?
In the meantime, who is supposed to give a fuck what you think about music anyway? Who the fuck are you to be telling anybody about music?

I'm sorry if you assholes are still living in the fucking 70s, but there is great music being made now and I'm not going to ignore it with the stupid fucking attitude of "all music made nowadays blows."
I sorta have to rack this sentiment. Zeppelin and Metallica (pre Black Album) are my two favorite bands of all-time. I rarely, if ever, listen to either anymore. I wouldn't say I outgrew them... there's just a limited number of times I can stomach listening to a song.

I don't lisen to them all that often anymore either. Not that that was ever the point of including them in this thread; or of S_M's original comment, which was that nobody cares about them anymore.
My point was to beat m2's brains in with his own medicine, as it pertained to Cal vs USC.
Danzig, vs Led Zeppelin, Vai, SRV and Jeff Beck? Yeah, I'm feeling pretty good about any of those matchups.

You're the only one making those comparisons in this thread.
I'd tell you to get your head out the '70's, but your probably too busy primping up your perm and designing a new air-brushed epic for the side of your "van". Jesus fucking Christ, was that even the inspiration for your nic?
When I was 14, I was into Zeppelin. When I was 16, The Misfits played my city.

Yes, I am. This would likely be down to the fact that m2 posted this thread with me in mind.
See, it's a BTPCF thing, and a youtube clips ragging thing.
BTPCF has to do with college football, not curling, so I get it that you wouldn't understand.

Let me see if I got this straight: The Denim Warrior with the Dan Haggerty wannabe look is saying someone else is stuck in the '70s?
Dude, look in the mirror. You're something straight out of a Bachman-Turner Overdrive time warp.
Btw, my nic here isn't a nic. It's the name that appears on my birth certificate. When I registered here I didn't bother to come up with some cute nic.
When I was 14, I was into Zeppelin. When I was 16, The Misfits played my city.
No contest.
What is this, a Bryan Adams song? How old were you when you got your first real six string?
Anyway, you forgot the part about when you were in your thirties. You know, when you utterly embarrassed yourself on the internet by posting unintentionally hilarious pics of your unfortunate attempt to date a full grown woman.
No contest.
Anyway, comparing The Misfits to Zeppelin automatically renders moot any opinions you may ever wish to express.
Adding to your charming lack of self-awareness you have now officially tacked on "tasteless, simple and stupid" to your Denim Warrior's badass internet persona.
Have a nice day, and try not to acid wash anything this week.

And yet somehow more people still care about them than any band that's out today.
Hmmm.
S_M, why do you assume this is an either-or deal here? Why should liking Zeppelin preclude liking other things, including current bands, which seems to be your bizarre position here.
See, I currently listen to Joe Bonamassa, Daniel Castro and Guthrie Govan far more than I listen to Zeppelin, and those three are current acts. I'd hazard a guess that most folks here who like Zeppelin also like any number of current acts.
Do you have a point at all to make here, other than the one about how you don't want to listen to older music? 'Cause you surely must realize that that's a point which is utterly worthless to make. It has no bearing on anything other than what one might expect to hear playing in your car, which is a discussion topic nobody's entertaining.

I listen to everything except the newer country. Right now, I'm on an 80's kick. But hey, it's the music I grew up with. I don't think anyone can deny that Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, etc., etc., influenced most artists in some way.
I don't knock anyone for disliking what I like or for liking what I don't. To each their own, I guess.

"Nobody"???
You mean other than the millions of people who buy and download Zep, Flyd, Stones and Beatles albums? You mean other than the millions of people who just dropped 200+ bones on Beatles Rockband? Not to mention the millions upon millions who still buy tickets and merchandise for these acts?
Hey, I appreciate you hawking new music. And there are a lot of phenomenal acts releasing new music who deserve, at the very least, a fair listen by the older folks on this board. But you make yourself the fool when you claim that "nobody" cares about 60s, 70s & 80s bands. The numbers are simply irrefutable.

ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY!!
How did you ever catch that, anyway?? I fixed that bitch, like, instantly.
Ever since Walt Hazzard and the Dukes Of Hazzard became part of my consciousness I've been screwing up hazard-hazzard. My eyes apparently just refuse to see 'hazzard' as being wrong, but I've gotten it down now to where I've somewhat catalogued in my brain those words which I always screw up. I've gotten to where I now automatically scan for those words whenever I go back to edit my own shit.
When I edit for other people I never have any problems whatsoever catching those things, but when I edit my own shit I have to be much more careful since the eye sees what it expects to see.
