As a program Cal just doesn't seem to be going anywhere anymore. Tedford did a first-rate when he got the job, but they haven't made the jump to the next level and after several years on the same tier it doesn't appear they're going to. They were supposed to be a darkhorse to lose to Florida for all the marbles, they barely got by a meh Minnesota team and have gotten dryfucked two weeks in a row.

USC is just as spectacularly talented as usual, they're just handicapped by having a very inexperienced QB and an OC who wants to minimize potential mistakes.

You'll still end up seeing the majority of this team's starting 22 playing on Sundays.
