say what you want about Edwards drops, but the Jets passing game just got a lot better
I know the Browns have no chance of doing anything this year but this makes absolutely no sense

Edwards has underwhelmed the last couple of years and has several off-field incidents. Why does it "not make sense" to get rid of him?
Do we know what round the two picks are in?

Browns get rid of a lost soul while he still had some value and invested in their future while getting a player who had almost identical production as Edwards at this point in the season.
the browns receive special teamer/2nd team LB Jason Trusnik, wideout Chansi Stuckey, and some undisclosed draft picks....I think the Browns probably could have gotten more bang for their buck....but hey, obviously you know a lot more about the nfl than I do, so I'll defer to your obvious expertise here.....
By all means, explain why this deal lacks sense. I for one would love to hear the complete void of logic that could only be your answer.
maybe the coaches figured that with all of his excess baggage, Edwards just wasn't that hot of a commodity...again, I defer to your expertise

According to an NFL source, the Jets gave up draft picks in the third and fifth rounds in the deal, Schefter reported. The third-round pick is a conditional pick and could turn into second-round pick if Edwards catches a certain number of passes this season. That is said to be a high number, but if Edwards lights it up in New York the way the Jets are hoping, the Browns then would get a second-round pick in return.
Looks like a good deal all the way around...
Browns suck so hard they have nothing else to do but rebuild, and no way Edwards is sticking around...
Jets get a legitimate offensive weapon to help them contend for the division...
BE gets off of possibly (all due respect to AFC West fans) the worst team in the NFL and gets the hell out of Cleveland as well.
