I don't see any way in hell your Tigers can score much against that defense.
If Brantley QBs Florida, you might keep it close, but the Gators will still win. He's a damn good QB, but UF will lose Tebow's running (obviously).
If I were Urban, I'd...well, first I'd change my name from Urban...but, after that, I'd sit Tebow and let him get well. The risk of him getting hurt longterm would dictate that.
I just hope that when Florida loses with an injured Tebow that we are not subjected to another stupid speech about how he is "going to work harder than ever before". All ESPN needs is another reason to start the Tebow stroke. To take quote from Will Farrell and change it up a bit..."The Tebow handy is done thumb down..... so you can work the shaft."
Geaux Tigers!

This game almost doesn't matter, not in the big picture. Florida can lose this game and still win the SEC, easily. If all Florida has is the one loss - in Death Valley, with a 'hurt' Tebow - the pollsters won't even give a crap. A one loss Florida will still get into the title game. Florida will need two losses, or a loss in the SEC title game, in order to not get in.
Hell, even with a loss in the SEC title game, it's not a foregone conclusion that they wouldn't get in. If both Bama and Florida are undefeated entering that game, and it's a close game, yeah, I could see a national title game rematch of Bama-Florida, unless Texas runs the table.

Of course I think LSU has a chance to win the game. They're playing at home. The Tebow situation is still muddled. Florida hasn't played an even remotely tough team yet this season.
LSU simply isn't very good though, so I expect Florida to win ugly. I don't expect either team to look very good. LSU won't do shit offensively against Florida. LSU will have to get the turnovers, the calls and the basic bounces of the football to win, but that's often what happens with LSU, so why not here too?
I'm guessing it'll end up being something like 24-17 Florida, but I also wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see LSU win another one of their clusterfuck specials.

The only way I'd take LSU is if Miles and Meyer are switching sidelines.

Does LSU have a chance to win?
Simple...........
NO,
not even the slightest bit of a chance, with or without Tebow. If Tebow plays they win by 27. If he doesn't, they win by 14. Either way, LSU hasn't a prayer in hell.

LSU is overrated but the game will be in death valley, so they have a shot
The Bengal Tigers best shot is just to hit baby jesus early and often.

I have nothing to base this on except the word of a very knowledgeable LSU fan who follows LSU and the SEC like Dins follows paint sealants, but he's telling me to expect Tebow not to play, and to bet that way. He's saying it's almost a certainty that Tebow won't play, especially since Florida doesn't need to win this game in order to get to the SEC CCG or the BCS title game.

I will give Jefferson some credit. He did make some nice plays late in that Georgia game. Granted, anyone could make plays against that defense but still......

Maybe, but it's still his first start, on the road. That's a huge drop off from what they'd get from He Who Hath Risen Again, especially if Tebow allows the media to compare him to Willis Reed or some shit.

I wouldn't get caught up with all the hype and glamour of this game. LSU will get rolled.

Eh, I might watch if Indiana isn't playing Northwestern or something. SEC football generally bores the shit out of me.

Supposedly LSU has won 32 straight night games at home. When LSU loses at home it's only during the day, before the place truly has a chance to become a full-on cajun bacchanal, is how the story goes.

GaytorFan attending the game should expect to get warm, recycled beer tossed on them. LoSerUFan sucks that much.

Jsc wrote:This nonsense about LSU fan being violent is just that, nonsense. We're way too busy drinking and having fun to do stuff like that. And when Gator fan walks around the parking lots, he'll be offered to eat and drink with us; he will hear "Tiger bait" more than once, however.
That was preciesly my experience when I attended a night game against Bama at LSU.
The Bama fans were good naturedly subjected to chants of "Tiger Bait!" sure, right before they'd be invited to join in for bar-b-que and all the other tailgating delights. Everyone was treated great.
I asked my buddy, who'd attended every home game for years, "Okay, we're always hearing about how insanely rude and obnoxious LSU fans are to opposing fans. So, no bullshit, what's the worst thing you've ever seen LSU fan do to some other team's fans during these tailgating deals?"
He thought about it for a moment, then said, "My brother and my father both went to LSU. My brother played here. I've been going to these things since I was little. In all the years I've been coming to LSU games probably the worst thing I ever saw was the time we tipped over a porta-john, with some loudmouth Tennessee fan inside. We shouldn't have done it, but the guy had it coming."
During the game itself I only saw one small incident of obnoxious LSU fan behavior, when this one drunken loudmouth didn't want to let the lone Bama fan in our area stand up and cheer. The LSU douche was okay with it for awhile, but by the second half he was becoming fed up with it, even though the Bama kid wasn't being the least bit obnoxious. He was simply cheering for his team.
The LSU douche began trying to shout the kid down, and the Bama kid wasn't having it; he stood his ground. When the LSU guy began to get a little belligerent his neighbors reined him in, telling him that the Bama kid wasn't doing anything wrong.
By the end of the game - an LSU win - the Bama kid had made friends with all the people around him, and even the LSU douche slapped him on the back and apologized for being out of line.
Swear to god, the impression I got that day was that a Bama coed could've dressed up in a houndstooth g-string bikini and roller skated through the campus flashing everybody as she sang the Bama fight song, and everybody there would've simply offered her various versions of corn on the cob.
Btw, there is supposedly a good chance of rain and a sloppy field for Saturday's game.

Watching that game, they could've played twelve quarters and LSU may have never scored an offensive TD. The Florida D vs the LSU O was a complete mismatch.
Florida's O was no great shakes either, but at least some of that in the first half was due to the wildly conservative play calling to protect Tebow's melon. Jeez, could they have ran any more dive plays in that first half?
Tebow is not an NFL QB. Not even close. That guy's delivery could be timed by sundial, and he just throws a bad ball.
Anyway, let's just go ahead and fast forward to Bama-Florida, for all the marbles. Texas doesn't have enough of a running game to beat either of those teams.

Props to LSU's D for showing better than I thought it would. Mega props to UF for finding a way to cover. And props to ABC for offering a watchable alternative.

Even though this isn't a very good LSU team the one thing for which Florida really does deserve credit is stopping the Tigers' thirty two game winning streak for Saturday night home games. Beating LSU under those circumstances is an accomplishment, especially when LSU treats the game as their Super Bowl, which was certainly the case tonight.
The problem now is Florida doesn't have another game for the rest of the season, not until they face Bama in the SEC CCG. The entire rest of this season will be one big yawn in the SEC, until that CCG.

Nah. Besides Bama, USC and maybe Oregon in Autzen there's nobody else in either league who would cause Florida any trouble.
Look at their remaining schedule, keeping in mind that LSU was also the only reasonably tough game they've had to date...
Arkansas: They're going to positively murder Ryan Mullet in The Swamp.
@Mississippi State: MSU is simply horrible.
Georgia: They'll name the score against this Georgia team.
Vanderbilt: It'll be a laugher by halftime.
@South Carolina: Yeah, like S. Carolina will even score double digits.
FIU: Wtf? Didn't Florida already play Charleston Southern and Troy this season?
Florida State: Uhh, no.
Florida could mail in each of these games. They basically have a bye until the SEC, and if Bama shits the bed between now and then then Florida has a bye heading into the BCS title game.
