Crazy Hair Guy

It seems like every team has one nowadays. He's probably not the best player on your team, but he's always hustling and right in the middle of the action. He's the guy you look for when the team needs an emotional spark.

Oh yeah, and he has crazy hair.

Troy Polamalu wasn't the first CHG to ever strap on a helmet, but he is the best one out there today, and it seems like his rise to success has been directly proportional to the growth of CHGs on all levels of football. The phenomenon is not even limited to football - think Chris Anderson on the Nuggets.

So who is your team's CHG?

Colorado's is probably B.J. Beatty, who has been a bright spot on a justifiably maligned defense. Here's a nice article on him:

edited because I posted an article about the kid and I couldn't even spell his name right

Sergio Brown for ND. Back in my day I don't think ND players were allowed to be crazy hair guys, even though they existed back then (e.g., Mark Gastineau).

Palamalu was scheduled to visit CU the weekend that Rick Neu took the UW job.
