JaMarcus Russell & Vince Young to be FAs in 2010?

The uncapped season might not be so bad after all.
ESPNs take:
Adam Schefter

Raiders wouldn't face penalty to dump Russell

"If an uncapped year does in fact come in 2010, the Great Salary Purge could accompany it. Teams would be able to dump bloated contracts they don't want without suffering the regular salary-cap ramifications. One such candidate could be Oakland quarterback JaMarcus Russell, who is scheduled to count $15 million against the cap for 2010, only $3 million of which is guaranteed. So if the Raiders wanted to pay the $3 million to Russell and let him go, they wouldn't have to pay his base salary or take the severe cap hit. It's a similar story in Tennessee with quarterback Vince Young, who has a $4.25 million roster bonus due March 10 to go along with a salary of $2.8 million. If the Titans decided to release him, they'd clear out over $7 million worth of payments. Of course the flip side to not having a salary cap is that teams could decide they are willing to pay Russell $15 million or Young over $7 million. But it's more likely that, with an uncapped year, there would be a whole new crop of free agents."

I don't know anyone who would want JeFuckface.

VY might get another shot given the right situation.

If I'm a team looking for a veteran QB, trade for Kolb.

I hope the Titans can unload VY. And with the way they are playing, they should be able to pick up a top 2 QB to work behind Collins in his last contract year to take over in 2011.

I think the Titan are much better than their record. If I'm Tennessee, go get a guy like Kolb and draft Suh in the first. Get a DB in the second and they are back in contention.

Pass on Kolb. He is a good backup which is why he's backing up. Not saying he can't develop more, but I'd rather take my chances with a Locker, Snead or Bradford. And if Clausen comes out, in a hearbeat I'd take him.

Kolb will be the starting QB for the Eagles next year.

So what injury are you predicting for McNabb to make that happen?

No injury. This is his last go at it.. notice they didn't give him a contract extension this year, just a shit load of money added on to this contract in 09.

What are the odds the Raiders draft Bradford?

What is his 40 time?

Oh and the Titans do not have a 2nd rounder next year. At least not their own. That belongs to the Pats.......

You don't. That's the whole point of the speculation that Russell and Young will be FAs.

Bradford Should have come out last year - major fuck up on his part since he won't go # 1 this year

He's kind of reminding me of Brodie Croyle now - He doesn't look like he has the frame to take the pounding in the NFL
