I didn't see anything wrong with Georgia wearing black helmets. Black is one of their colors. Tennessee is a different story though.

'Spray, Stanford's Cardinal nic refers to the color, not the bird.

Remember, they used to call themselves the Indians, but the P.C. crowd forced them to change it.

For such a highly regarded academic institution, it always freaks me out that Stanford can't figure out how to pluralize their name.


Of course, if their AD spent any time reading these boards, he'd change the name to "Stanford Cardinal's."

Dins, "cardinal" refers to one color; not an array of hues within the cardinal spectrum.



It's like the Utah Jazz, or the Miami Heat. You're not going to call them the Miami Heats, or the Utah Jazzes. Stanford is correct in referring to the color in the singular.
