I disagree that he can't do his job -- he fills the bumbling moron role of the Gameday trio perfecly. You've got the sarcastic, but mild mannered host (Fowler), the level-headed analyst (Herbstreit) and the crowd-working cartoon (Corso). I'd say he's doing exactly what ESPN pays him to do.

I don't really know where Desmond Howard's cliches and cackling fits in with all that, but he's the one who truly needs to go.

Desmond Howard is the poster boy (ugh) for the term tokenism. It ain't fair to him any more than it is to the viewers.
