What would you do?

Post by CintiBearcat92 »

If you were Brian Kelly, would you let Zach Collaros keep the starting QB job or give it back to Tony Pike? Tony was 5-0 as a starter and had a 17-10 lead over USF when he got hurt. Zach finished that game and beat USF 17-7 in the second half and then has gone 3-0 himself. Here are the numbers:

Pike: 128 of 199 (64.3%) for 1,632 yards with 15 TD and 3 int (minimal rushing yards).......5.5 games
Collaros: 76 of 100 (76%) for 1,229 yards with 10 TD and 1 int (44 carries for 288 rushing yards and 4 TD).......3.5 games

Collaros obviously gives Cincinnati the running QB threat and he does it quite well. It's a no-brainer to me....Collaros is the starter until he doesn't deserve to be. I know it's not that simple for Kelly though. There will be alot of second-guessing no matter what he does if we lose a game and miss the BCS bowls completely. If I were him I would stay with Collaros without any doubt. Not only are his numbers off the charts but he really seems to have that extra something that you just can't quantify in statistics. What do you guys think?

doesnt matter cause you guys SUCK and dont deserve to be in the top 10.

sin,
Spray (sup spray? )

tough decision tho..I, like the coach would go back to Pike..since he's gotten ya where you are..and with Pitt coming up, Pike's been under the pressure of games against a good opponent in a big time game. And much to Spray's shagrin (sp) Cincy and Pitt is actually a big time game.

Let Pike rest one more game and then bring him in for the Pitt game. If he shows signs of being rusty or out of sync, then yank him for Collaros.

Collaros has looked real strong, so I would keep him in.

Pike wasn't doing all that much against us. He made one really great play on the 3rd and long with that pass from the end zone, but outside of that our D held him for the most part.

They play Illinois before the Pitt game, so that could be a game where both guys might play.

I believe they now have a cure for that.
