what the hell happened last night? I know Rutgers has improved alot over the season but 31-0?? I don't know what happens to you guys after say 5 or 6 games. Your seasons always seem to start off really strong and then you guys take a nosedive. That is two straight beatdowns at the hands of Rutgers and I'm sure that has to bother you quite a bit. Are you happy with Leavitt or do you think you need someone else to take USF to a higher level? Now Rutgers is 7-2 and feeling that they deserve to be in the next top 25 with losses only to Pitt and Cincinnati. We'll see how they do against West Virginia. That game will tell us how good they are. Did you see the graphic last night about USF's conference and non-conference records in the Big East. Their Big East record is now 16-16 and their OOC record is something like 25-5. Maybe the Big East title needs to be emphasized more down there instead of the in-state OOC games. You guys are really puzzling this year.

4 turnovers and a blocked punt certainly didn't help. There didn't seem to be any changes made on the offensive side of the ball. The middle of the field was wide open all night. We did not run any screen passes when Rutgers blitzed. The one crossing pattern we did run was a bad throw that got picked and then the play was never run again. You cannot be afraid to stop calling plays because of 1 turnover.

We stumble at this time of the year because the Big East coaches know our tendencies and know there will not be any adjustments made offensively. That's why teams with good defenses like Cincinnati, Pitt, and Rutgers will continue to have success against our "offense". I'm sick and tired of the spread offense that we use and that read option play is just flat out awful.

This is the first time I have really begun to question Coach Leavitt. He could have went outside the program to hire a new Offensive Coordinator, but stayed in house. The same offensive woes we've had the last few seasons are still there because there are no new plays and no new formations. We have absolutely no running game and we abandon it much too early if things aren't going well (hence why there is a revolving door at RB). In the WVU game we mixed things up, ran a good number of plays under center and had their D off balance. I saw none of that last night.

The sad thing is that the Big East title is the empahsis every season, but we're a long way from that. We were close in 2005 when we controlled our own destiny with 2 games left in the season. We had much less talent on that team (outside of Andre Hall), but we had a running game and we controlled the tempo of the game.

Last night was just a flat out embarrassment. The only good side I see is that we will not be playing much on Thursday nights anymore.
