Yeah, back when they had back to back Rose Bowl teams in '71 and '72 the DL picked that nic for themselves. When the school decided to drop the Indian thing and had a poll for a new name Thunderchickens won. Apparently the admin didn't like it and they just went with "Cardinal", as in the color. Pretty lame. They dumped the Indian chief mascot and since then they've had a guy dressed up as a tree. Sort of funny in its own way and consistent with the nerdy weirdness of the band.

Best will try to outdo himself - he'll leap and land colon-first onto The Tree and attempt to survive it. IndyFrisco will gleefully comment on Best ripping ass-asunder, and this time we'll all be forced to agree.
