The article said her mother refused to watch the kid.

She should be honorably discharged, ultimately, she will be and this won't be news. Reason we're hearing about the trials and tribulations of the average Joe Snuffy or Split-Tail Sally is so we can all understand and feel empathy - althought not excuse - the actions of a troubled Soldier who just happens to be Muslim.

R-Jack, the quote in Sam's post says:

Under Army policy, soldiers who cannot find a suitable caregiver may be disciplined or honorably discharged.

I guess they get a slap on the wrist and assigned elsewhere or they get an honorable discharge. Funny how for chicks, a dishonorable discharge can lead to an honorable one.

The article implied it was Army policy to, at its discretion, discipline the Soldier or honorably discharge the Soldier.

The article implied two possibilities. As a grateful recipient of her willingness to sign up and join and her performance of her duty up until this point; his citizen can only hope for and recommend the most favorable of those two possibilities.

Honorably discharge her.

I don't, those details weren't available, which is why I err on the side of mercy.
mvscal wrote: You seem to have an idealized vision of those who serve in the military which doesn't leave much room for shitbirds, goldbricks and blue falcons.
I'm sure they exist, not my place to determine that though.
mvscal wrote: The favorable disposition is reserved for people with real problems not shit-eating liars. Why the fuck would you discharge this dirt bag? There is plenty of work she can do.
Indeed, but she might get "stressed" and shoot up the base or something. We need to be careful these days not offend, piss off, or otherwise inconvenience anyone. I'm just trying to get with the "CHANGE" man. Cut me some slack.

I suppose staying with the father is out of the question.

Let her go take care of her kid...its what she should have done in the first place instead of signing up for the military.
