"The breeders of the University of Georgia mascot have specific qualities that are only acceptable for a mascot: large heads, specific colorings. This type of pure lineage is really only available through constant inbreeding," said Archolla.

Well it is the South honey......
"Well, we're talking about a lesser of two evils. Perpetuating, and that's what I'm trying to say - that breeding dogs and cats is always irresponsible and cruel," said Archolla.
How is it cruel.....the dog gets laid a whole bunch and gets to spread his seed onto another generation. What the fuck is so cruel about that.

Then the dog gets to live a great life pissing and taking dumps on some of the most manicured pieces of grass you could ever imagine. Shit, sign me up.

If PETA actually focused on say... serious examples of, say... I dunno... unethical treatment of animals, they might be something other than a joke.

The GF's roommate is a vegan -- won't eat anything that involves "cruelty to animals," including the consumption of milk.

I've offered to take her to Tillamook, the U&L Dairy Capital, to see examples of how dairy farmers treat their cows (most I've ever come across treat them damn-near like it's their children)... but it doesn't matter -- her mind's made up.

I love a good steak, and I'm with Dins in regard to his opinion of PETA, but I do agree that breeding dogs is pretty fucked up. It's not so much cruel to the dogs being bred as it is to the thousands of dogs sitting on death row that need a good home. Call me a bleeding heart, but I actually like her idea of using a rescue bulldog.

I'm a major bleeding heart when it comes to animals, and I still think PETA is a bunch of fuckups with misplaced priorities.

They're kind of a weird variant of the Boy Who Cried Wolf -- spew enough misplaced stupidity, and when they do come up with a legitimate concern, everyone is too busy laughing at them to listen.

They really need to choose their battles a little more wisely.
