I'm gonna go with MSU in the upset here. I think they'll have enough time to get ready for the nutsoid O that TT has, and I think they'll win...
One of the most lopsided matchups, imo. Go all in on T. Tech. Where to even begin? MSU has no business even playing this game, and it's the fucking Alamo Bowl...that should say enough. 6-6 vs 8-4. 103rd pass defense vs 2nd rated pass offense. I know stats are stupid but when we're talking about a differential of 101, that might foreshadow something. It gets better. MSU? Eight player suspensions. Three of those guys are key starters. One of those guys is their best cover guy. If the 103rd ranked defense loses its best cover guy against Texas Tech's offense...it's all over. The other two guys? Only half their receiving core. And that's just the football issue of it. Who knows what kind of impact all this crap will have on the team's preparation and focus. Oh, yeah, and the fact the game will be played in Tech's backyard. Whatever the spread is, triple it.

FedEx Orange
Iowa vs. Georgia Tech Miami
Land Shark Stadium Jan. 5
8 p.m. FOX
If Iowa's coaching staff can do what Les Miles did last year by studying the freak option, and getting their D to throw everything they've ever learned out the window and stick to their ASSIGNMENTS, Iowa will win this one fairly easy. If their defense wants to play like they have against conventional defenses, GT will kick their asses. The onus of this game will be entirely on Iowa's Defense. I don't think this will be a close game - whoever wins...
I see what you're saying, but I don't see anyway Iowa could possibly get blown out against a one dimensional team.........or any team for that matter. We haven't lost by more than a touchdown in over 2 years in any game. Our last 3 games against non-Big-10 BCS conference teams we have given up 10,17, and 3 points and averaged scoring 31 a game.........those 3 teams are all bowl teams from the Pac-10, SEC, and Big-12.
Now, I highly doubt Iowa blows Georgia Tech out either. I just don't see it. This will most definitely be a close game that could go either way. All I know is I am pumped. Just bought tickets and booked my travel. Fuckin' Go Hawks!

The Iowa-Ga Tech matchup is the most interesting of the BCS games, imo.

I only agree with this because I'm an Iowa fan and the game I care most about is Iowa. But if I were not an Iowa game, I would say the Florida-Cincy matchup is the most intriguing. I am interested to see how Florida responds to their loss and also to see just how good Cincinnati really is.
Iowa and Georgia Tech are just 2 good teams without many neat storylines. Won't stop me from being pumped up for it though!

I say that because I don't know how to predict it. I have a pretty solid lean on the other games. Stanzi and Robinson should be back, but neither will have played football in forever so it'll be interesting to see how they do.
Agree that Cincy-UF is the second most interesting.

Actually, Robinson played the last 2 games. Wegher missed the Ohio State game.
I'm hoping Dace Richardson will be back, but Ferentz seems uncertain. We really need him on the right side of our line. Will also be nice to get Jeremiha Hunter back. He missed the last 2 games. He's going to be a key factor in this game because he's our most athletic linebacker. tOSU's RB's were able to get to the corner with his backup in there on 2 long touchdown runs.
I agree that it's a tough game to predict. I like how our passing game matches up against their defense and I think we can run the ball a little. But I am curious to see how we play against their run game. We don't mix things up on defense a lot. Can't wait to see what gameplan Norm Parker has in store.

Still trying to figure out why UCLA would take the bowl invite to play Temple in Washington DC. They would have sold out Bronco Stadium had they played Idaho in the H-Bowl. I know, I know, both are crap bowls, but would have been nice to see the Bruins play in person for the first time in years.

I can't believe Georgia is playing in the freaking Independence. I wonder if they'll be up for it.
The Sun Bowl with OU and Stanford should be a great match-up. I'm leaning towards OU, I think their D can keep Gerhart in-check enough to get the W.
Arizona's HFA may not be that big in the Holiday, we're obviously disappointed about the CCG but still travel very well plus Neb-fans in Cali will show. With three weeks of prep I like our D against 'zona. Foles is good but not very agile and unlike in the Texas-game we could actually get some damn holding calls. The question is whether our O finally do some damage. My guess is just enough Neb 20 'zona 13
I think the "in a better bowl than you deserve" curse bites FSU and WV rides Noel Devine to victory.
Okie Lite vs Ole Miss is hard to peg. Both are coming off embarrassing losses to the in-state rival. I lean towards Nutt because the rebs have really disappointed and think he'll pull one out to keep his butt off the hotseat.
TTech will have homefield out in the Alamo and coming out of the 10 I don't think MSU is quite ready for Tech's O.
I don't think Iowa has the athletes on D to do what LSU did last year. But they're well-coached and with all that time they should play the option pretty well. I think this will be a great game.
I gotta lean towards the tide. Both times Texas played a first-rate D this year they're O didn't do much. Bama obviously has a great D, and their O was impressive against Florida. But I think Texas stays in it til the end, could take it if they win the turnover battle. Bama 24 Texas 17

Texas wins by 30+ easily. Bama has never seen no shitlike Texas before. Sure they can beat a Florida team led by a crying Jesus stroker and a coach who forgot where "gatorade" was invented and thus became dehydrated. But can Bama stop FREAKING room mates? I bet they have never gone up against room mates before, especially ones who grew up together, raised by dads who were also college room mates. That is the type of stuff that will bring the Texas mojo.

6-6, 7-5 teams in New years bowls
What a fucking farce.
I think the FSU thing is garbage, but ok, ACC was ok with it, but a 7-5 team, who went 3-5 in their conference in a New years day bowl? I mean, c'mon couldn't go .500??? in conference??? The SEC is top heavy, the rest of conference is average at best.
BCS bowls should of been:
Bama vs tejas(might be worst BCS title contender since Nubs)
TCU vs Florida Sugar
Cinccy vs Boise Fiesta
Bama is going to rape tejas. Tejas might be the worst of the top3 teams(bama,TCU,Tejas), and i'm not sure they could beat Florida either. They are a clear product of a Bad conference, they alomst got beat by an undermanned OU, and a NU team with the worst offense in the country. Good thing for the BCS programs they ditched TCU and Boise to Fiesta, 1 or both of the teams would take one of those undefeated to the woodshed!
