Unmountable Boot problem

Now while this may sound like a problem for AL Bundy or a bizarre sex practice, it actually happened to my laptop the other day.

Of course I was out of town and the kids were using it. I fixed it, but I have two questions:

1. What could have caused it?
2. Is it likely to occur again, or could the drive now be more subject to failure?

man it's hard to know what caused it.
you could always go to Adminstrative Tools >Event Viewer>System and read the error messages:)
if it's XP.
the drive would only be more subject to failure if the drive was the initial reason of the problem.
it could have been system related which wouldn't effect the drives functionability.
or something.

Yeah its XP Pro.

I do have a spare drive to toss in there, so its no big, but this is the family portable so it has multiple users and a lot of potential for screw ups.

Thanks for the info. I'lll check the EV.
