As this is being written, Northwest Missouri State is up 21-0 early 2nd half. This is the 5th straight year they've made it to the championship game in Florence, Alabama where they've been denied in heartbreaking fashion the previous 4 times.
They're playing Grand Valley State, the very same team that ripped their hearts out in 2005 and 2006.

And, uh, may be calling you. If you can, please take your name off that and, um, and what do you call it just have it as a number on the voice mail, just have it as your telephone number. That's it, OK. You gotta do this for me. Huge. Quickly. All right. Bye."

Linfield has the longest streak of consecutive winning seasons of any CFB program at any level -- 54 and counting (undefeated in the reg. season this year).
I don't think any program, D1 or otherwise can touch that. Picked up some NAIA Championships in the Old Days (like when I knew guys playing there), and have won a D3 (2?) title since they moved up.
D3 is kind of like HS ball, only with much better execution.
Ugly first half and could've been worse if Council didn't get the ball ripped from him near the end zone. The Lakers at least made it a game but Council was a beast like Xavier Omon did a couple years ago. Props to the Bearcats on another title.
I'm sure the party is on in Maryville tonight, really a nice little college town. My brother went to school and lived there for awhile in the late 70's - early 80's where he and his wife burped up 3 kids. Damn near moved there myself, once upon a time.
