Stop with this mean persecution of Joe "Well, when Reggie Bush called me last week **elbow in the ribs from team official** I Mean When Reggie Bush, who I've Never Spoken To LastWeek When They Weren't Supposed To Contact Recruits" McKnight, OK?

Drop the Death Sentence on USC already. Even when the place is crawling with NCAA investigators, they still won't fucking stop.

Of course, the USC retards on here will be along soon to explain that smoke isn't caused by fire, and USC is hunkydory.

Hopefully, the NCAA finally feel's its hand is forced instead of the "Nothing to see here" front they've been putting up. Then again, I wouldn't put it past them to say McKnight being benched for the bowl game was self punishment and adequate.

Prime, I simply don't give a fuck. I just want this season to die already.

A guy was seen driving a car? A car which isn't his? He was seen driving it, with the permission of the registered owner? A college kid was doing that? Really?

Death sentence!

Apparently U$C thinks it's a big deal if he isn't going to the game.

Give the kid a break. It's not like he was doing something trivial like drinking and driving or flashing a gun in public.

Van, I think the problem may be that the car is registered to his GF and they claim she's making the payment along with the insurance, but in reality the car is for JM and they're just saying it's this way to cover up something. What type of paperwork could he be working on? If it's really not his car then what's he working on?

An anonymous reporter says he saw JM driving someone else's car a few times.

Guess what? It's hardly uncommon for a college kid to be the beneficiary of either a borrowed car or a straw purchase of a vehicle. When I was selling, I don't know how many baby mommas and grandmothers purchased vehicles for slacker teens. Those kids had no credit, and they were never on the title. The kid simply roped whichever person with good credit he could find into signing for the vehicle, which they were never going to drive themselves. At best, maybe the grandmother or baby momma was smart enough to at least add the moron to their insurance on the vehicle.

If yet another college kid without two nickels to rub together is driving a car registered to his GF, or to anyone else who's willingly letting him drive their car, that would be about the most non-newsworthy thing I've ever read. It's just another straw purchase or borrowed car. Probably half the kids in school are driving vehicles under similar circumstances.

I couldn't give a rat's ass. If the car were found to be registered in his name as the legal owner, when he had no means whatsoever to purchase it, then it's a real issue. If he ends up taking the car, long after his GF is gone, and either the GF or her boss continue to make the payments on it for him, then it's a real issue.

So far, all we have is a kid reportedly having been seen driving a car which isn't his. BFD.

USC is just engaging in preemptive damage control by suspending him now, pending the results of whatever they find out about this nonsense.

Someone shoot this season. Please. Tebow cried. Stick a fork in this year.

Good point Sam. And correct me if I am wrong but didn't Bama self report that? Part of their institutional control and all?

Yep.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama has told the NCAA that athletes improperly got free textbooks for other students and that the school failed to adequately monitor distribution.
But how is the Bama coaching staff supposed to know what the players are doing with their textbooks? :meds:

aren't you supposed to trot out the "what can the compliance dept. really do if people don't want to cooperate" excuse you did a la reggie bush's family? oh, look, looks like they can suspend a player over the issue.

considering SC's past inability to keep track of every second of every player's life, or however you tried to explain it away, joe mcknight driving around in an suv his girlfriend can't afford is a BFD.

Its the girlfriends boss who straw purchased the car for her. The boss and Joes babys mama's parents have been long time friends but Joes baby's grandparents didnt have the credit/debt to income ratio for another car loan so her boss signed for it and the 500 dollar payment comes out of her paychecks. shes an administrative assistant (secretary) for his company
With the scrutiny on the program for made up bullshit, Joe should have been smarter and not driven his girlfriends used car around, Bates and Morton are completely clueless on how to use Joe in a bowl game that none of USCs players or fans give a shit about, did they lose that game already?
whatever, season was over on halloween, get to firing the worthless assistant coaches and get on to next year.

Graduate?
She's probably already a couple of other dudes baby's momma and she's a glorified secretary. Graduate? Keep the humor coming. What paperwork did he have to complete this week if it wasn't his car? Oh wait, maybe they're making sure it's in her name and shredding all the other documents that may have had his name on them.

A good many of the NCAA rules are total bullshit.

Of course most teams follow them anyway.

It's no big deal.

It was a big enough deal when a SuC booster ratted on DeShaun Foster for driving a nice vehicle...Suspended immediately by UCLA and didn't play the last 3 or 4 games...eliminating him from Heisman consideration....

* IF the NCAA creates special rules and policies that are for SuC only, they'd be foolish not to conform to the new, expanded guidelines.

So what if he drove the SUV?

Public transportation in LA suxx. He had no choice.

Society's to blame. Is carbon footprinting an NCAA violation?

not an apples to oranges comparison. Deshaun Foster was given a brand new vehicle from Bruin booster, McKnight was driving a used car that was recently purchased by the mother of his kid who had a straw purchaser (who isnt tied to the school) since she didnt qualify for the used car loan on her own. and Deshaun only missed the game vs USC and the bowl game

Apples - New vehicle / Oranges - Used vehicle.

How silly of me. EVERYONE knows USC stands for United States China.....and the buyer is NOT a booster, he's an agent....

He's a property assessor for the county of Los Angeles, name one pro athlete he is an agent of.

You must work for Yahoo because none of the facts you have on the story are correct.

McKnight has been seen driving this vehicle two times, both times she was in the passenger seat.

From the L.A. Times:

Schenter, 47, said he is an entrepenour who has a background in finance and marketing. He said he also works for the L.A. County Assessor's office.

AND,

In Schenter's e-mail, he said while he works for the County, he would rather be known for his expertise in marketing and finance ventures...

He also said he owns the website 4joemcknight.com
