Watching the Barret-Jackson car auctions on the Speed Channel gets me thinking if I had the $$$ what kind of car would I buy just for fun. Mine is a '66-'67 Plymouth or Dodge 2 door coupe with the hemi-engine under the hood. Would love to tool around the roads here in SW FL in one of those.
If you had the cash, what would yours be ?

early e-type jag roadster, original shelby cobra w/427, shelby gt-350, late 60s hemi powered dart, '63 split window coupe vette, mb 300sl gullwing, early 30s duesenberg SJ (cruella deville rig), '59 coupe deville.

would probably add some other pre-war stuff besides the duesie, just can't think of any particular models I'd like.

My Grandfather had a '66 E-Type when I was a kid - Awesome looking car, but seemed to have a one month life cycle before shit broke. I think that was par for about every British car - had the same issues with an MG I owned for 6 months out of college

Would love to own a P 51-D. The bird that won the European war. Finally had the range to escort the B-17s all the way to Germany and back. Don't really give a rat's ass about cars. I just want my SUV to start every time I put the key in. Also not ashamed to say that I don't know jack squat about how a car runs. Could prolly find my way around changing the oil, but anything other than that is beyond me. Buy why change my own oil when someone else will do it for $19 in about 10 mins?

Okay, among American cars, it'd be some sort of convertible land yacht, like this...



Otherwise, well, I really don't give that much of a crap anymore about 'big deal' cars, so it'd probably be something simple like a 335i Convertible, or maybe a 911.

If money was no object, I'd get this...




A realistic option down the road that I might wet my whistle with...

Guess I'm just a neck at heart cause if money was no object I'd still go out and buy an f450 DRW King Ranch. Maybe splurge and go with Yosemite Sam mud flaps in the back or sumthin.

'67 Mustang GT500. I will own this in about 5 years, not doubt about it.

Nothing wrong with owning a rig like than in New England, so long as it's tucked away in it's garage on a day like today. If you do have a car like that and you are driving it around today, I hope some liquored up uninsured puerto rican in a '91 mercury marquis plows into you.

A huge plus for living in a place like here. If you were a biker or boater you can do it all year round. I saw two old Ford hot rods parked at the place I had breakfast this morning. One of them was the spitting image of John Milner's yellow 5 window coupe in "American Graffiti." One other nice thing here is even though it may be cold, you can still hit the road !
