BSU with the pick 6! Plays like that are why most bowl games are a total crapshoot.

TCU's helmets are bitchin'. I've seen plenty of motorcycle helmets like that, but never a football helmet. Very cool.

Boise State is playing it pretty smart for the most part and spreading it out early unlike what they did last season in their Bowl game against TCU. Running it isn't going to work this evening unless they are using it to draw the defense in to open up the field for the main assault.

This is one nice thing about sucking ass in the CFB Pick'em bowl games: Since I'm long gone I don't have to worry about "rooting" for one team or another to cover a spread. Just sit back and enjoy the games.

Also agree on the TCU unis. They actually make purple look pretty bad ass.

Damn Johnson should have been able to bring that ball in. #rd down mistakes are hurting TCU more than anything right now.

Boise State can lay some wood. This is some of the hardest hitting I have seen by a single team in a quarter of play in a long time.

Yup. TCU should have been in the title game vs. Bama. This is my first viewing of TCU playing, but they look like nothing special at all. I actually think this is one year where the BCS got it right.

Unbelievable.

I would have strongly considered picking TCU against either Bama or Texas. Maybe Boise State is that good... I couldn't argue in threads about that because I do feel they really only have one real win this season. TCU has made some mistakes on third down. Boise State's left side of the line has been holding all game.

PI on the defense WTF?!?! Did they watch the same play as I did???

First time I haven't seen them hold and it's a jail break up front.

So far there should have been a safety on this drive for holding in the end zone... believe it was the Left Guard but may have been the tackle. That was clearly PI on the offense not the defense as well.

This game is far from Over Prime... Boise State also thoroughly handled Oregon who made into a BCS game earlier this season as well.

Besides, I will say this about BSU... they have one of the best coaches in the country; they're really lucky to have a guy who really does enjoy it there and the University who is so talented in game planning and teaching the game on offense.

For those of you who are surprised at the team speed of these guys I have to wonder how much football other your own team and conference you watch.

I am more surprised at how hard Boise State is hitting on defense tonight. I haven't seen this out of them before, not even when they played Oregon.

The cheerleaders are the reason why I would have loved to have seen TCU's match up with Texas State... or better yet been there in person, doubt I would have seen much of the game action if I were though. Texass and Texass A&M don't even compare to the ratio of hotties to men that TCU and Texas State have. San Marcos is one of the most beautiful places on Earth to be as far as nice tail in the spring. More ass than grass...

does this mean that you don't think they're fast or that it doesn't suprise you how fast they are?

For me the Boise St. phenomenon has worn off, mostly cuz they play shite teams for the most part and usually on wed or thus nights. As for TCU, don't really get a chance to catch them other than the highlights. My first instinct is to regard both teams as offensive specialists. I know there are gaudy national rankings for TCU and damn good for BSU, but the level of the competition takes the shine off that apple. This is why I'm impressed with the overall defensive speed for both teams.

I knew they were fast... I've seen all but two of TCU's games and most of Boise State's. TCU hasn't played any worse of teams than Bama and Texas but we have other threads discussing that...

A Pick Six, a huge fake punt and a dropped pass by TCU...ballgame.

Here's my question: Where was this Boise St defense when they played Fresno St? I watched that game, and Fresno St simply shredded them to pieces. Fresno St couldn't stop Boise St either, so Boise St won the game, but man, the Boise St D got completely torched that night. It was just one long play after another, to where the Boise St D simply looked helpless.

Just never know, from one game to the next.

Does Boise have a case? I think Texas and 'bama deserve their spots but Boise is damn impressive. They just win on any stage.

Playoff? I know, not happening anytime soon, but how much fun would a plus-1 party be?

You got that right. I watched that game as well and was convinced that BSU was horrible on D. Tonight - they were the difference. Great game.

My question, though. Why doesn't TCU have ANY fucking pass plays that utilize the middle of the field? Seems like almost ALL of their passes were to the side... Weird.

They have them... I've seen them all season long until tonight. I was wondering the same thing.

Memo to my friends from Wazzu and Oregon: Stop talking shit about Boise State. It just makes you look bad. My buddies from UO who I went to the Rose Bowl with talked shit about BSU all weekend, and I just got a text from a Wazzu peep who bitched that neither BSU or TCU would put up a fight against Bama or Florida or Texas, and deserved to play each other.

Boise State is good. Let it go. Oregon fan I know you're bitter (Dins . . .) that the Broncos have rolled you two years in a row. Too bad. Scoreboard. Wazzu fan, I know it's frustrating that a team our boys used to beat 58-0 would probably now do the same to us. Such is life. If anything we should embrace Boise State as proof that fortunes in college football can change quickly, and success can be achieved anywhere with the right coach and system.

Props to the inhabitants of the Smurf Turf.

great game, great win for BSU

scary to think that BSU only loses 1 starter to graduation

21 of the 22 starters you saw playing tonight will be back next year (assuming nobody does anything stupid)

think they're good now?

just wait

Ya - they should definitely be impressive next year.

Was looking at their 2010 schedule:

http://www.broncosports.com/SportSelect ... EASON=2010

Oregon State might be a test, but that trip to VT should be something. If they can win those two games and go undefeated, that might get them higher than this year (with a little help from some of the other big conference teams losing). I was impressed with them tonight. Like Van said - I saw that Fresno game, and their D was awful at that point, but they made some serious fucking adjustments....
well at least they're trying to strengthen their out of conference schedule, too bad so many BCS schools pansied out at the chance to play them....
WAC commissioner Karl Benson said Tuesday that several high-profile programs have turned down a chance to play a home game against Boise State in 2011.

Boise State — with help from ESPN, Benson said — has been shopping for a game to fill out its 2011 schedule.

Benson wasn't sure of the exact number of schools that had said no, but figured it was close to 10. The Broncos weren't asking for any games in Boise in return, he said.

"They're running into a situation where nobody will schedule them, nobody will take them," Benson said.
hmmm, everybody complains they don't play anybody, but when they have an open spot, suddenly everybody's dance card is full...yeah yeah, I know about scheduling in advance, but BSU's open slot was flexible, and it would be the perfect opportunity for a power conference team to slap them back to reality...so what's the problem?
