Gotta admire a guy, especially one as young as that in this age of entitlement and gross over-spending, who says, "Ya know what??....fuck it...I'm not going to be anyone's bitch and come hell or high water I'm still going to get an over-priced education without the debt...fuck the system"
Hearing people brag about their 65K SUV's and 75 dollar bottles of scotch and 2500 dollar infrared BBQ's doesn't impress me as much as this dude just did. To each his own, I guess. Rack his determination.

After he scores a PhD from Duke I'm sure he'll have access to some fairly high quality tail. Especially if he decides to turn that degree into a tenured professor's gig down the line.

If he really wants to impress, he'll continue living in that van when he's pulling $150K.

PhD? $150K Did I miss something?
Uhm... try an English major with an MA in Liberal Studies. That qualifies him to be a Social Worker, I think.

This quote kinda refutes that:
On winter nights, when the windows were coated with a frosty glaze, I'd wish for a woman to share the warmth of my sleeping bag.
But then there's this, which sorta supports it:
During rainstorms, I listened to millions of raindrops drum against the roof and watched them wiggle like sperm down my windows.

Nah, he'll get a PhD before he's done, take up a teaching post and spend the rest of his days banging hippie chicks and preaching against white male hegemony.

From Websters handy college dictionary:
Hegemony; n. Leadership or predominance, esp. by one member of a confederation of states

It's all about emasculating the tyranny of the patriarchy.

As a married man I'm sure you know all about that.

Funny someone on the precipice of accruing 23,000 posts is commenting on the concept of restraint.

Now, you have reason to shit can her... I only aspire to having 23k posts but unfortunately having a life gets in the way of such goals in a modest four year time frame.
