I don't give a damn if they're called "Patriots West" with these moves, I LIKE THEM. Haley has no business being the HC AND OC- too much on his plate on gamedays. Weis runs the same offense, and developed Tom Brady. That's all I need to know about the guy, and Romeo Crennel should be here shortly once Pendergast gets gassed- Haley wanted Crennel for the DC last season, but he just came off hip surgery and wanted to get fully healed from that. The
Chiefs' off-season to me has already started off on the right foot.

Fuck.
I was hoping he'd come back to NE. I can't believe the Patriots didn't land him.

I was just going to ask PatFan what they thought of Weis. Thanks.

I know zilch about college football other than seeing the big headlines now and then. So what happened with his Notre Dame gig?

he was a huge success at Notre Dame, velo, but once you have the NFL in your blood... well, there you go.
Charlie is going to love KC. I heard one of the clauses in his contract calls for all the FREE BBQ he can eat at every Gates in town... with Jason Whitlock as his personal escort.

Gee thanks for that. Anyway I was guessing he was doing
something right in spite of his canning based on the chatter I've seen from other CF-knowledgable 'Skins fans. They invoke the name "clausen" in draft talk with regularity.
That one and "bradford." With special reference to said names being selected with the 4th pick.

I don't care if Haley hired Mark Mangino to be OC....if the dude gets the job done that's all that matters.

I was hoping that Brady’s close personal relationship with Weis would help with a return to NE. From a resume building perspective, it doesn’t make sense for Weis to do it all over again. Been there, done that. I think potential suitors for another HC gig are more likely to line up if he turns things around in KC on the offensive side of the ball.
Charles seems to be a highly talented RB and KC’s offense was much improved since he took over the reigns from Diaper Boy. It’s not like Weis won’t have anything to work with. Pick up a stud receiver and some OL help and I think he’s got the right tools in place.
Speaking of which, Weis never got to play around with Moss and Welker. I think he got the most out of limited talent besides Brady (and Dillon for one year) during his time in NE. It would have been nice to see what sort of things he’d come up with considering the increase in talent since he was last here. Oh well.
Very disappointed with the play calling this year. Also, there’s been too many delay of game penalties and wasted timeouts as the play clock is about to hit zero. NE seems very disorganized at times…

He couldn't field a consistant defense to save his life, was the first part of why he failed. The second is that he ran the team much the way you would in the NFL. He basically didn't give the back ups enough reps so if there was an injury, it was easy to pick out the replacement because he wasn't ready to play.
Charlie was a very good play caller. The frustrating thing is that he wouldn't stick with the run, and he would try to prove how smart he was. He would change from what was working to something different and get too cute.
I think he will go back to being an excellent NFL OC. His offense relies heavily on a smart QB who can make reads at the line and quick decisions in the pocket. He did a great job at developing the offensive talent at ND. After this coming draft, he will have produced 2 first round QB's, a first-second round WR, 2 second round TE's, and a third round WR. This isn't including Smadzija who would have been drafted in the first three rounds, but elected to play baseball instead. He also left ND with two players who will likely be first round picks in the 2011 draft in Michael Floyd and Kyle Rudolph.
He will frustrate you at times but when Weis's offense is clicking, it's fun to watch and very hard to stop.

It's official: Romeo's in the house as the new DC.
I can't be happier with these hires....tell me PatFan, what brand of defense should we expect to see out of Crennel's unit next season? The so-called experts on the radio say his Patriot defenses were fundamentally sound, rarely gave up the big play, and gave the enemy QB FITS with some of the alignments Crennel called for.

Do you have Harrison, Seymour, Samuel, McGinest, Bruschi, Law, etc, etc, etc... in their primes? Me neither. Your defense can only improve based upon last season's debacle. Expect more 3-4... I think Pendergrast already ran that... if you call his schemes and personnel an actual defense. James frigging Harrison and Miles Austin much? Maybe you can sign Wilfork to anchor the middle.
Either way, now you can rub elbows (and other oversized undulating body parts) with your new O and D coordinators as you gelatinous fucks voraciously lay waste to your city's numerous buffets.

Did they hire that fuckin' camera man that was filming the other team's signals? Jabba the Weis and Crennel owe that motherfucker a shitload of cayshe for prolonging their football careers.
