Lately, I see people labeling themselves "liberal progressive."

What does this mean? What do they believe differently than say a "liberal" or a democrat?

It means they totally ignore reallity and facts and base all there decisions on feelings of guilt and intellectual supremacy.

A liberal progressive is somebody who considers themselves to be liberal first, and progressive second.

Sort of the opposite of a progressive liberal.

I always thought "progressive" was the new code word liberals used to try to reform their image, since referring to yourself as a liberal usually results in varying displays of revulsion by those in proximity.

People calling themselves "progressive liberals" kind of defeats the original purose of the term "progressive," which I always saw as an attempt to cover up the fact that you are a pussy liberal and also a dig on conservatism by implying conservatives are stuck in the past.

The left is really good in the use of language. George Orwell spelled that out fairly well. The right simply looks pathetic like when former President GW Bush used the term "compassionate Conservative" as if a Conservative has no compassion. That was bad enough. The most lame example was when the Conservative Party in Canada kowtowed to the left by calling themselves the "Progressive Conservative Party". Uber pathetic !

Well he did call us liberal progressives "elite" and also implied that our knowledge was all encompassing. However, I did detect some sarcasm in the tone of his post. So I came to the conclusion that in his disturbed reality, smart and elite are somehow pejorative terms and responded in kind. Hope that helps.
