Hmm, I would say Cincy or Pitt is getting the best bang for its buck. Marquette's not terribly surprising. No football program to generate revenue from, but at the same time all money generated from basketball goes directly back into basketball.

With regard to ROI... how can you determine this giving that this season's return has yet to be fully realized? Furthermore, taking a look at just a one year snapshot and then presenting your findings seems awfully short-sighted. To put in bluntly, I wouldn't hire either of you as an analyst.

Really? You need more data to determine that perhaps the bottom tier teams in the Big East are spending the least, and that top tier teams like Syracuse, Louisville, Georgetown, and UCONN are in the top 5 in spending? Give or take I'd assume these are average yearly expenditures.

I'd say Nova is getting decent bang for expense, they were pretty irrelevant for most of the 90's after the Massimino NC. but, legit now. i like Jay Wright. St. John's not much bang; nor Seton Hall.

interesting how the old Big East schools are bunched in the top 2/3 bookended by the C-USA and midwest additions--who spend both more and less as a response to conference membership.

if it were the Big XII, Georgetown (with it's history) should be expecting more than they've had over the last decade or more.

i still think 16 teams is too much. kinda silly.
