I'm real surprised Mike Riley said he doesn't want the job. Why would anyone stay at Oregon State when USC is calling? Unless he spoke to Petey and knows what's about to come from the NCAA............

If I'm a big name coach, I am interested in the USC job but I make sure to put in the contract that if the shit hits the fan, I can get the fuck outta there right away.

The coaches I would go after if I were the USC AD......

Kyle Wittingham, Chris Peterson, and Butch Davis.

Davis would be #1. I don't give a crap if he doesn't have west coast ties. They're freakin' USC, and he is a good recruiter. He'll have no problem landing the Cali kids. He's got east coast and NFL ties too and so you'd expect him to sway some of the top players from the east coast to head out west. I doubt Davis really wants to finish his career at UNC.

If USC could lure Wittingham away from Utah the rest of the Pac 12 would be in big trouble.

Polar opposite of Sark. Solid, conservative, defensive minded coach who has done a lot the in the past with a limited recruiting base. Unlimited potential if he were to step into that job and start kicking ass.

I hope it doesn't happen.

Not sure if "took" is the best word. More like "left."
