Could it be true? My co-worker swears it is...

My co-worker's best friend works with a group of women. One of those women has a son who is slightly mentally challenged (or whatever the pc term is now for mentally retarded). Every weekend she drives to check on him.

A couple of weeks ago he called her on a Wednesday and asked her to come to his house so she could see the troll that he had captured. She attributed that claim to a very active imagination and told him she would see him that Saturday. He called again on Thursday, Friday and early Saturday morning asking her to come see him so she could see the troll that he had captured.

When she finally arrived at his house mid-day that Saturday she went to the front door and knocked. She heard some shuffling and the door finally opened just a crack. When he saw it was her she heard some more shuffling and then he finally opened the door wide enough for her to enter the house.

Once she got in she noticed that her son had piled quite a bit of his stuff against the front door as if he was trying to prevent anyone from entering. He excitedly began talking immediately about the troll he had captured and led her back to his bedroom where she noticed another large pile of his stuff in front of his closet door.

He began moving the stuff from in front of the door and when he finally got it opened there, in the closet, was a little person (or whatever the pc term for midget is now). This little person was a Seventh Day Adventist who had come to the mentally challenged man's home and the man had thrown the midget in the closet thinking he was a troll. He apparently kept the midget in the closet for 3 days.

The midget refused to press charges but the police did tell the mom that her son was going to have to live somewhere that had supervision for him because he was obviously a danger to other people and trolls.

Should I believe this story? Has anybody ever heard of this before?
