Obama's Fox News Interview Will Help Reach Conservative Democrats, White House Says
President Barack Obama will make an unusual appearance on Fox News in an effort to reach conservative Democrats who may be critical in getting health care reform passed, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said on Tuesday.
The interview, scheduled to air Wednesday night, caused some head-scratching when it was first reported earlier on Tuesday. The Obama administration has had a frosty relationship with the conservative news channel, going so far as to claim that the network was an arm of the Republican Party.
But desperate times apparently call for desperate measures. And in an effort to reach every voter and lawmaker who may be undecided on health care reform, the president will grace the television arm of the Murdoch empire
"Obviously they have a pretty big audience share and I think it is safe to say that a lot of members that are undecided are going ... watch and their constituents watch this news," Gibbs said. "So we are happy to continue the argument on why health care reform is important to pass this year on Fox."
Asked if he thought the president could persuade anyone simply by appearing on their TV screen, Gibbs replied: "It is certainly worth a shot."
There is an important caveat to the president's appearance. Instead of sitting down with one of the network's opinion shows, he will sit down with anchor Bret Baier for his 6 p.m. newscast "Special Report."

yeah, like people who watch Fox News are really going to change their opinion based on this interview.
But you can bet that Keith Olbemann, Jon Stewart, et al will damn sure be watching. It's a major source of their material. That, and wanting to know what the enemy is scheming. For which I don't blame them. It's why I watch CNN almost exclusively.

So, according to the Obama administration Fox News is an illegitimate news organization. However, to reach Democrats, Obama will appear on this illegitimate news organization's network.
Yeah, I know...makes as much sense as arguing that you can pass the Senate bill without having voted for it.
Fucking morons...

Neither Olbermann nor Stewart is on CNN. I know it's a cliche in these parts, but tell me you knew.

His post states that the two men will be
watching Fox, not
working for CNN. Whitey then states that
he watches CNN to keep tabs on "the enemy." Tell me you
can read.

He talks about one man who works for Comedy Central and another man who works for MSNBC keeping tabs on Fox as "the enemy." He then states that he keeps tabs on CNN, the erstwhile network of both Lou Dobbs and Glen Beck, as "the enemy." Tell me you can read
between the lines.

Yeah.
There was once another lib lawyer around who better fit that description:
Lawman.
I forget exactly how that old notion is stated... something about a million monkeys banging on typewriters for a million years will eventually produce the works of Shakespeare out of randomness... well, even such an assemblage would still have a primordial, unconscious sense enough to avoid pecking out a Lawman post.
Opposed though I am to TiC's politics, there is no way I could justify his being in Lawman's company. Quite the opposite in fact.

I always appreciated Lawman's posts. Especially his avatar at TNW, that animated gavel thing was pretty cool.

I guess since HillbillyJim was a card carrying member of the BRP, I can see that.
I could appreciate his posts from the point of view of someone who likes an easy target.
And his unintentional comedy routine was of course the unwavering commitment to hide from any challenge from the likes of DrDetroit, JUNGLEJUICE or diogenes.
If there was a poster who was in ideological lock-step with Lawman who deserved my sincere respect it was
index. Not because of his message, but because the fukker showed up to fight every round and went to battle with some game.
Where Terry In Crapchester fit in with all that leftist crew: eminently reasonable ombudsman who demonstrated the capacity to question the assumptions of his own slant at least in an academic sense if not in practical application. And he could craft a slick azzzzz post of advocacy vis-a-vis his side when the occasion arose.
The guy is a straight up credit to the smack community.

So?
Was there supposed to be some lucid, insightful point to that?
It's been fairly common knowledge for 20 years what the Communist News Networks agenda is. They might not be quite as overt as MSNBC, or Fox for that matter, but it's still there.
Chritianne Ammanpour, James Carville, Donna Brazille out front shoulda' told ya'.
Not hating on CNN totally though. I'd so hit Betty Nguyen if ever given the chance and Brianna Keillor could eat crackers in my bed, day or night.

The role of the media is to support the government and pass along any information the president wants passed along.
