OK Babs...what will it be?

Post by Shoalzie »

Mother fucker!

State controlled the glass, the points in the paint and turnovers...add that to Williams fouling out with a few minutes left and that equals a Duke loss. The Devils shot well from the field but went dry down the stretch it got a free throw for the Spartans.

Shit!

OK...I'm hear to collect my sig...son of a bitch

Congrats to the Spartans on breaking the 47 year drought against Duke and best of luck in the Elite 8 against the Kentucky/Utah winner. To be honest, I like State's chances against either team with the way they've played in the tournament.

For next year, Duke only loses Ewing and Love to graduation and they bring in 3 McDonald's All-Americans (barring any draft defections)...they'll be back and hopefully as a deeper and more desperate team.

Damn it!

No big whoop. I was surprised to see Duke get this far. I said waaaay back in November that, "....if you want a piece of 'em, this is the year to get it..." and yet they still managed to bag an ACC Tournament crown (sure, they had a little help), a #1 seed, and a sweet sixteen. For most teams, this would be a GREAT season. For Duke fans, it kind of sucks. Nonetheless, they overacheived all year long and I'm proud of them. Next year, they'll have a whole new crop of guys to hate for absolutely no other reason than that they're fine players. Never really understood that.

As for MSU, they played a great game, defending Redick, pounding the glass, exhausting the Devils w/high pace game, and canning all those FTs. Miss those and it's a repeat of November. Major props. Now, Kentucky? Oooh, this is like choosing between the iron maiden and the rack. Well, at least Maryland is nowhere around, so I don't care.

I think w/ paulus coming in they are gonna have him play behind Dockery and move nelson to either backup Redick or start as the third guard. Either way, Duke should be better.

It came down to depth...State had it, Duke didn't. Coach K brings in another strong recruiting class and they only lose Ewing. You saw last night when Williams fouls out and Redick is contained...Duke is very beatable. Coach K did an amazing job with what he had to work with. When you consider Deng left early and one of their prized recruits (Stevenson) went directly to the pros...that would've been two major contributors to go with Williams, Redick, and Ewing. I'm not spouting an excuse here, I'm just saying Duke overachieved and damn near made another Final Four in the process. Next year's year team will be infinitely better because they'll have depth.

Josh McRoberts (PF 6-10 / 235)

What's up with MSU not getting any McDonald's All-Americans this year?
