Maybe later. Hard for me to get worked up over college hockey now that I only watch three games a season at the most.

i check scores about three times a year now, so same. guess i'll go back to anticipating a 4-8 football season.

It would help if Kalamazoo Tech wasn't the bottom feeder of the CCHA. You heard about Culhane, and now John Markell, getting canned, right?

I predicted their second round exit. They were generally picked to finish seventh in the Big 10 this year and finished one game out of first. They got taken out of the tournament by a better team. I’m quite satisfied with their season. EAD, BTW.

Cornell is a good team, but I would be extremely disappointed in your used car salesman for a head coach. His team just looked lost out there, and pretty much stopped playing "Wisconsin basketball" towards the end of the year.

I didn’t see much of the games against Wofford and Cornell, but I thought coming down the stretch the team started to look kind of tired. Most Big Ten fans outside of East Lansing, Columbus, and West Lafayette would love to have the success the Badgers have had over the past 9 years, and realistically only MSU has accomplished more than UW in that time frame.

That said, I do have some complaints about Ryan as a coach. He is too committed to forcing players into his system rather than adjusting to their skill sets. That worked quite well in Division III, not so well at times in Division I. He should have some other options besides that swing offense, because when you fall to a double-digit deficit you can’t consistently take 30 or more seconds to get a shot off.

He’s also too committed to the man-to-man defense. It’s been generally effective but there are times when a zone might be more effective and it also can allow you to protect a player in minor foul trouble. Overall, I’m pleased with the team’s success, and really the success of the athletic department in general. Consistently ranked teams in football, basketball and hockey, plus some level of success in a lot of the minor sports.

I didn’t see very much of the game but from what I’ve been told, Cornell was throwing up shots from all over the court and they wound up shooting 61%. Wisconsin hit 49%. I imagine there are a lot of teams that would have a problem overcoming 61% shooting. But like I said, I didn’t see much of the game. Did you watch the whole game?

No, but I caught a good deal of it. They just didn't guard anybody, especially Hughes. Offensively and defensively, it just didn't look like a typical Bo Ryan team. Lazy on D and turning it over on O. This is how they looked late in the season.

I wish I had DVRed the game. Now I just have to take your word for it.
