Seriously SF - this is a poll of GOP voters. I used to be a Republican till they lost their minds this decade.

What do you think when you read the results of this poll?

It says to me a lot of the folks in this party are not even as informed as a typical HS kid.

....I'm seriously disappointed at the remaining percentile who have their heads so far up their posterior they can't see the obvious.

I think that it's a sham, designed to produce the desired result. They found that fully a quarter of their respondents believe Obama may be the Antichrist?

Yeah, that's a legitimate, credible poll.

The poll was commissioned to test the hypothesis of a new book about the lunatic fringe taking over the country. I can't link to it but there's a nice take down of the poll at ABCNews...a decidedly partisan organization that swings left.

But, hey, why expect KC to know wtf he is talking about?

KC, it merely depends on who they poll, as well as how they word the questions. Clearly, they went out of their way to poll the absolute dumbest SECBSHs they could find. By that same token, what sort of damning results do you think they'd come up with if they polled 2500 tinfoil hat wearin' Nick Friscos? Those poll findings would lead us to believe that most Americans are convinced our entire government is the cliched villain in an episode of The X Files.

Here.
Polling on Presidential Pejoratives
March 24, 2010 8:27 AM

Whatever profoundly negative things people might think about Barack Obama, a new poll out today demonstrates splendidly how not to measure them.

It nails the negativity, all right; this project purports to tote up responses to a list of harsh criticisms of the president – e.g., that he’s “anti-American,” “a racist,” “wants… an excuse to take dictatorial powers,” “is doing many of the things that Hitler did” and “may be the Antichrist.”

Hot words, those. The survey, done by Harris Interactive, apparently was designed to test the theories in a book claiming the “lunatic fringe is hijacking America.” The purpose seems to have been to see how many people the pollsters could get to agree to pejorative statements about Obama. Quite a few, it turns out – but with what I see as a highly manipulative approach to questionnaire design.

I’ll lay off the sampling, though this survey was done among people who sign up to click through questionnaires via the Internet in exchange for points redeemable for cash and gifts – not a probability sample. Been there before. This time let’s just look at what it asked.
Perhaps KC Scott will actually look at a poll before getting diarrhea of the mouth, again.

Refute what? That childish garbage had to have been written by a high school student. Compiling a list of things you don't like and calling them "Right Wing" traits vs their opposites which he concludes must be "Left Wing" traits is, quite frankly, idiotic.

The structure of the argument doesn't hold any water.
it's worth reviewing the tenets popularly associated with the right. These include:

Individualism over collectivism.
Racism or racial segregation over racial tolerance.
Eugenics over freedom of reproduction.
Merit over equality.
Competition over cooperation.
Power politics and militarism over pacifism.
One-person rule or self-rule over democracy.
Capitalism over Marxism.
Realism over idealism.
Nationalism over internationalism.
Exclusiveness over inclusiveness.
Meat-eating over vegetarianism.
Gun ownership over gun control
Common sense over theory or science.
Pragmatism over principle.
Religion over secularism.

"Eugenics over freedom of reproduction." Now this one here is particularly stupid since reproductive freedom is synonymous with abortion which is a form of eugenics which was championed by hard left nutters such as Margaret Sanger.

It's generally helpful to actually understand the terms you are attempting use to frame your argument and this asshat clearly doesn't.

Merit over equality...wtf?

Conservative and liberals disagree over equal opportunity and equal outcome. Conservatives embrace the constitutional of equal opportunity. Liberals embrace equal outcome. I.e., liberals prefer to exercise discrimination to achieve specific outcomes. But, for some reason, it's conservatives always being blamed for discrimination. Ironic, eh?

Racism or racial segregation over racial tolerance...wtf?

Conservatives prefer to end racial and ethnic classification expressly to avoid the government discriminating against citizens on the basis of race and ethnicity. OTOH, liberals prefer to segregate society along racial and ethnic lines expressly to impose preferences...errr, discriminate.

Common sense over theory and science...wtf??

Like climate change? Like Obamacare? Stem cells? Missile defense?

What the difference is is a healthy skepticism of faddish theories and a respect for institutions that the liberals wholly disregard.

The MOST dangerously conservative elements in our society in the past fifteen years are the seething neocons. And that is a straight up euphemism for Israeli worshipping Jews. From Poedertz to Pearle, to Wolfowitz to Libby, to...oh fuck, the list goes on and on. And even though most of these fuck stains are in hiding or disgrace, their actions are with us more than ever.

As it is, many responsible Jews are also in the vanguard of opposing the neo conservative contagion, for example, Amy Goodman and Noam Chomsky, etc.

There's a difference between opinionated editorial and fact based news.

I watch the news, I read newpapers and magazines, I make up my mind based on facts, not slanted opinion and pre-conceived ideals.

I'd like to think I'm mainstream America but if not, mainstream America can go fuck itself. Mainstream Americans vote though and it's unlikely that they'll be standing in line on election day waiting to punch Keith Olbermann's or Bill O'Reilly's ticket.

Mainstream Americans vote with their wallet and I predict a landslide of House and Senate Democrats looking for new jobs as teachers.

WW, ordinary newspaper articles and news programs are full of opinions...from the journalists preconceived notions of right and wrong, the very ppl he chooses to talk to even the selection of what those ppl said to include.

That's why we have major US networks staging events to invent news...like tampering with wires in Toyota vehicle to attaching rockets to GM trucks. Or mainstream journalists exercising no skepticism at all about Obamacare, climate change policy...even after arguing that they were duped by Bush and Reps and Dems.

Why youy believe that you're getting facts from the newspeop...errr, opinionmakers is beyond me.

Again we see why you don't dare post anything beyond a sentence or two--of silly sarcasm at at best.

Okay...so in the dented old man head space of B-juice, ...Norman Poedertz is not right wing? Pearle and Wolfie?

You see, that's not even stupid, it's pathetic. Such nonsense undermines any attempt at being serious.

As for the original ZioNazis Herzl and Jabotinsky, sure some folks point out that these loons were in fact plainly national socialists, therefore "left wing."

Well, Hitler was a national socialist too. Of course his agenda was in fact basically identical with theirs, right? An ancient racist myth of Divine Mandate supposedly giving their particular (self) chosen race a piece of someone else's land.

But of course you're dead wrong. Jabotinsky, for example, after Herzl's death in 1904 became the leader of the right-wing Zionists. And so on. Your "argument" isn't even worth addressing, let alone punching all around the school yard like a fat wheezing stooge.

Your initial attempt at silly humor is almost so stupid as to actually be funny :D

"In the memories of collective Jewishness, forty years doesn't rate as even the single tick of the second hand."

Really? Forty years of interest on a loan? What Shylock is going to "rate'' that with anything less than palpitating salivation?

As for the ZioNazi notion of Palestine being somehow a permanent Jewish property, well this is the deluded dream of weird old men with little boxes on their foreheads, nodding slowly as they stand by a chunk of wall--built by Rome and destroyed by Rome, etc..

Go pretend to be smart, go play. :hfal:
