Mongo kicking it. Jump on in radio/chat. Just click that little link up top and right.
Thanks, dood. Good times are always had by all, and the more, the merrier. I have a "what do these songs have in common" segment lined up for tonight that could be fun. Let's rock this fuckin' joint tonight!Sudden Sam wrote:Gonna try to listen to Smackie's show tonight. Enjoyed the hell out of it the one time I dropped in.
Good tunes and good conversation.
Exactly. This is gonna be a case of "use it or lose it," imo. And losing it may be fine with most folks here. I realize everyone came here not with the intent of chatting & listening to online music, but rather to post on the message board. I'm fine with that. Like Dins said, if he wants to listen to music, he'll turn on his real radio. And there are other options as well. But I can tell you that I, and probably Indy, won't waste our time playing music here if no one is interested in listening. I'm not being critical, just stating fact. I personally have fun doing it, and get the impression from those who do listen that they enjoy having this feature available for them.Wolfman wrote:Goddammit. Where are the fucking listeners?
I played until almost 11 PM. At the time, I had been the only one in there for an hour so I bailed.Mikey wrote:Goddammit. Where are the fucking djs?
I'd like to do a show myself sometime. I'm thinking a once a week show where I play nothing but live music. I just need a little more time to get my collection up to snuff.Sudden Sam wrote:I thoroughly enjoyed the evening I spent with Smackie and the rest of the bunch. Great music and fun interaction on chat. I'd love to do a show, but...
My problems are threefold:
1 - Shitty computer at the house. Can't handle anything.
2 - Still haven't gotten an external drive to store my music, so I can't access shit quickly.
3 - I hate to even look at a computer when I leave work.
Absolutely. Often times, Chat was almost solely about football.Indy wrote:Smackie, one BIG reason for the dropoff, I believe, is college/pro football is over and college basketball is over. We are really in the offseason right now I believe. People came to chat in droves to discuss football/basketball and music was just as equal a component of the chat/radio as chat and whatever game was going on everyone was watching.
This is right.Van wrote:Between their dramas and the fact that they spoke over the radio, they drew more listeners

I seldom visit Mag7, but when I was there a couple weeks ago and saw some of the back & forth between you & Bace, it just seemed that you were trying to emphasize the IKYABWAI rather than avoid it. Figured it was a troll.War Wagon wrote:Still wondering about that 'board personna' comment you made the other day.

It's what draws interest.
You need someone to run smack on air, or in chat, so that in the morning, people are standing around the water cooler saying, "Poptart said WHAT last night?? Damn, I better get in there and listen tonight."
If folks aren't gettin' fucked up, pffft, forget it.
9:07, fuckos.
Hey, I'm doing my part to keep things rolling and I have to give van credit for stiring up the chat with his 'expert guitarist' critique of every fukin song.van wrote:You need a nice, shiny red "shitcan the dirtclod" button, which is to be used in instances such as when Barf complains that no one is chatting, while he's not chatting either, except to complain that no one is chatting. It may also be employed whenever someone's sole contributions to Chat consist of pointlessly haraunging Indy, reminding us that he fought in Vietnam, and, especially, that despite being in his sixties he's once again high on pot while watching NASCAR.
Gotta good one lined up for you tonight.BarFlie wrote:Hey, I'm doing my part to keep things rolling and I have to give van credit for stiring up the chat with his 'expert guitarist' critique of every fukin song.
So what you're sayen is you wish this place had all of the features that Otis n Katy's board, http://www.rackthetrolls.com already has.Smackie Chan wrote:Exactly. I've mentioned to Indy and PSUFAN that there are some improvements I'd like to see made. First, we need more deejays (assuming there are listeners). Anyone interested in doing shows, please let Indy or me know. I'd also like to see displayed at the top of the message board, near the "T1B Chat/Radio" link, if the radio is offline or what is currently playing if it is online. Lastly, it would be nice if the ability to switch between microphone and music was made smoother and didn't result in a reduction of transmission speed or other difficulties. But even as it is, it's still better than nothing.
If anyone else has any suggestions for how to make it better, I'd love to hear 'em.
They also have close to if not more than 14 radio DJs and with the traffic they have going at RTT being a lot more than here Chat/Radio is lively every single night.Otis wrote:Wags wrote:Smackie Chan mentioned on T1B radio the other night that he might be looking for greener pastures, as in, more listeners, as if I alone wasn't enough.
This concerns me.
He also mentioned that I had a 'different board persona' at Mag 7 than I do at T1B, which really blew me away since I seldom post here.... I didn't know Smackie posted here.
But this isn't about the 'tard that is me, it's about Smackies radio show... which he did for 4 straight days last week and I caught much of all of it.
So Mr. Smackie Chan, since you apparently check in here, this is a shout out to you for a job well done. Keep doing what you are doing.
Oh... and guess I'll give a shout to Ana and Prime while I'm at it, even that Strange Brew dude who seems to think he's got it all figured out.
Lastly, if orc drops by... I'll most certainly be in Springfield on Saturday. Could you direct a brother to a better BBQ joint than what I found last time?
Wags, you should drop by RTT and Mag7's radio and chat sometime.
Between PrimeX, Ana, Haywood, Ali, ElvisMonster, Junction plus a bunch from CF dj'n along with Katy, yt1300inhtown , and shutyomouth..... there's a pretty deece group. It's always a full house in there...
Hell, Smackie drops into chat there too and we've said he's more than welcome to do a show there.
(Just doing my part to help pick up the slack during Luther's April sabbatical from posting here)

Typical of the general mood here you take this stuff much to serious. I'm just teasing/trolling you, indy, wags whoever in much the same way plenty of people take shots at me, especially on the nam subject. The difference is I don't care and you apparently do. You've probably noticed I go quiet when you and spray are in a heavy music discussion. Just being courteous and staying out of what doesn't interest or concern me. When the chat gets more general I jump back in. I'd like to remind you that you can go into a private room with another musiic fan and talk guitars to your hearts content without being bothered by any other posters and still listen to the radio. Also, the chat has an "ignore" feature. If you don't want to see the cheap shots and other stuff I post then use it and quite whining.Van wrote:Barf, guess what they play on the radio in Chat? Music. Guess what's in most pop and rock music? Guitar playing. Guess what one of my hobbies happens to be?
If music is ever replaced in Chat by the sounds of bongloads being bogarted while the discussion turns to talk of '60s era artillery minutiae, hey, I'm sure you'll dive right in with enthusiastic, expert critiques.
There ya go. Fucking troll forum you got there, tard. Of those 103, 90 of them are from 2 actual users. Go back to that shithole. The Pope wrote:rackthetrolls.com wrote:In total there are 64 users online :: 24 registered, 13 hidden and 27 guests (based on users active over the past 60 minutes)
