Yes, defense can have something to do with cold shooting but it’s not an absolute. You might have a team playing shit defense and the other team still shoots 30%. I’m sure that concept goes right over the head of a Kalamazoo Tech alumnus. And I’m guessing that Brian did indeed watch the game and that’s how he knew that Duke played some tough defense. Actually, I watched the entire second half, including the part where Butler went something like 0-10 during the last 6 minutes. I was at a class up until then. It was gut wrenching to watch, especially since Butler was playing their ass off on their defensive side as well. But when Duke had open shots, they hit them. When Butler had open shots, they misfired.
