Even though I grew up a White Sox fan, I'm a little pissed off Obama had the fucking gall to wear a Sox hat while throwing out the first pitch at the Nationals game today. Another slap in the face for baseball in DC. You know, I would forgive him if the Sox were playing the Nats, but the Sox had their own home opener today. He should have just flown out there, made all those fans go through security and thrown out their first pitch.
Christ. Even fucking Bush didn't wear a Rangers hat while throwing at the first pitch at RFK in 2005, and he fucking used to OWN the team.
Rack Bush. Obama is just another transplant that could care fucking less about this place. What a disgrace.

That's not my point, you diseased Cuddles Analyticals emanating from Katy's stanky vag. My point is that the President was invited by the fucking Nationals to throw out the first pitch, and even though he is the President, he should have shown the franchise a modicum of respect and not worn his Sox hat. How hard would have that have been? That was so incredibly bush league, it makes me believe a little bit more in those stories of giving foreign dignitaries DVDs and low-brow shit like that. There isn't a single person on earth who would have said "Gee, is the President a Nationals fan now? Is he not a White Sox fan anymore?" It would have been a sign of respect, humility and class to leave the Palehose hat at the White House.
Seriously, even if he's President until 2016, I hope the Nationals never invite him back to Opening Day. Let him throw out the first pitch at White Sox games, that's where he wants to be anyway. He can fuck up their fans with his extra security and bullshit pomp and circumstance (sup Suckaholic?). He totally slapped the franchise in the face. If the Nats were playing the White Sox? I'd get it, I'd let it slide. But they weren't.
Christ. Even worse, he's making Bush look good in comparison. Excuse me while I go vomit.

No shit. Then everything after the bottom of the 1st was downhill from there.
That was an utterly classless move by Obama, and I say that having grown up a White Sox fan. Why don't you just kick a fanbase when it's down, you empty suit jackass?
I never, ever, thought I would favorably compare Bush to Obama, but at least Bush had the class not to put on an Astros cap when throwing out the first pitch. What a disgrace.

who gives a fuck. he's a politician who used the opportunity to be all "just because i went to dc doesn't mean i forgot my people." the only ones up in arms are those who moved their lives there only to find out everyone treats DC like a commuter college. it would have been more of a kick to the sack had the white sox been there. "thanks for inviting me. oh, i like that team over there better." also, he wore that big red parka because he's a communist.

Frank Thomas is younger than Obama. I know this is a cliche around here, but tell me you knew.
Obama and I are within a few years of each other, and IIRC, the White Sox pretty much sucked all the time when I was a kid, so I guess I can cut him some slack for not knowing any of their players back then.
That said, I seem to recall Dick Allen (he changed it to Dick from Richie when he joined the White Sox) and Bill Melton both leading the AL in homers as White Sox, and Wilbur Wood winning 20 and losing 20 in the same season with the White Sox, when I was a kid. For some strange reason, I also remember having a baseball card of someone named Rich Morales when he played for the White Sox.

That "bad team" excuse doesn't fly, Terry. Hell, even I can come up with five players from that epic 119 loss Tigers team:
Matt Anderson, Brandon Inge, Dimitri Young, Carlos Pena, Bobby Higginson.

The point is, the whole "keepin it rill" dealio that Obama seems to take pride in doesn't really work when you aren't actually keeping it real. If you go around calling yourself a fan, and flaunting the gear in opposing ballparks, it'd be nice if you could name at least one player in the last 37 years. Pretty phony, but otherwise, no biggie.

In the grand scheme of things, yeah, no biggie. He lied about being a fan, and he didn't have a teleprompter to tell him the name of one fucking player on the team he "fell in love with after a couple games as a kid." Phony I guess. More pathetic than anything else. Seriously, why can't he ever just answer a fucking question honestly and not have to skirt around the answer?

I guess that explains the first "pitch" he threw out yesterday:
An Eephus pitch (also spelled Ephus) in baseball is considered a junk[1] pitch with very low speed. The delivery from the pitcher has very low velocity and usually catches the hitter off-guard. Its invention is attributed to Rip Sewell of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1940s. According to manager Frankie Frisch, the pitch was named by outfielder Maurice Van Robays. When asked what it meant, Van Robays replied, "'Eephus ain't nothing, and that's a nothing pitch." Although the origin is not known for certain, Eephus may come from the Hebrew word "efes" (pronounced "EFF-ess"), meaning "nothing".
He throws a baseball like he governs this country. Soft and way left.

You call that a rant? N-word, pulleeease!
The overlooked factor in the embarrassing incompetence of our honorary first pitch celebrities--from lanky lefties like Barry to actual athletes like Trent Edwards--is the lack of proper footwear while attempting to throw off a mound. Without some sort of cleats--even softball shoes are fine--your plant foot will simply slip upon contact, and you'll lose all control. It's basically impossible. Look up Mark Wahlberg actually trying in Boston, and in good shape (ooooooh--needed the cleats!)
As far as Barry's White Sox whiteout, he certainly should have had "The Hurt" at the ready--if not Bo Jackson as an inspirational blah blah..
(But..Sir Findafuck, would you care to offer ONE example of Barry's "left" policies?)

Obama's a few years older than me, though, so perhaps he could remember the second stint with the White Sox.
