Santonio Holmes traded?

OK, I get that Mike Wallace is a real up and comer and that Hines Ward II err Golden Tate is floating around out there waiting to be drafted. But WTF? A 5th round pick? Something doesn't smell right. You would think that the Steelers could have at least gotten a 3rd rounder. Weird.

Looks like they're flushing the toilet. Big Rapist had better be on his game this year or he could be the next turd circling the bowl.

After think about this for a minute, I think it is obvious that the rumors Santonio was looking at a 4 game drug suspension are obviously true. Combined with his prior arrests, and the nightclub fiasco, I think the Rooneys just wanted him out of their collective faces. Mike Wallace is at least as talented as Holmes and will be a more than adequate replacement.

So unsubstantiated rumors are obvious facts when the player is no longer a Steeler?

Got it.

Can you think of another reason for a team letting go of a proven starter in the prime of his career for a 5th rounder? If you do, let me know.

BTW: That rumor has been confirmed by multiple media outlets this AM. Pending an appeal, Holmes is looking at a four game suspension for the chronic.

They should be able to get at least a 3rd rounder for Rapistberger.

Exactly, and I might add he'll need to stay off the police blotter for the foreseeable future.

Obviously ownership is cleaning up, and sending a message to a Steeler locker room that has been a major source of stench this offseason.

End of story.

The Steelers had their idiot kicker get ticketed with a disorderly conduct. That is it. No other charges have been or will be filed. But thanks again for demonstrating that you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

Ben's a fucking disgrace and an embarrassment to Pittsburgh, the Steelers, and the NFL. But thanks again for demonstrating that you still have your head up your ass.

As the DA said they aren't the morals police. When the Steelers or the commissioner hand down his suspension it'll be for a reason, & that reason is Roethlisberger is a fuckin' embarrassment, and dumb as a bucket of rocks. While his upcoming suspension will validate my take, its also apparent that as long as Ben throws TDs, it doesn't matter what he does off the field to fans like yourself.

The girl asked the DA not to file charges. Not necessarily because Ben was innocent, but probably because she didn't want to get carved up by his high-dollar attorneys. He's obviously not all that smart. It's just a matter of time.

When it comes to supplying booze to underage chicks they are. Yet no charges for unlawfully dealing with a minor.

No, the reason will be that Roger Goodell is hypersensitive to media criticism. If he had a real set of balls, he'd tell the media that due process is still the law of the land in this country and the Steelers are under no obligation to show that they are somehow more "pure" than any other NFL team. Also, he should tell Chad Ochohypocrite to fuck himself with the race card he tried to play.
While his upcoming suspension will validate my take, its also apparent that as long as Ben throws TDs, it doesn't matter what he does off the field to fans like yourself.
Your take will not be validated by Goodell's knee jerk response. Period.

My take has been from the beginning that if Ben is guilty he should rot in jail. I will be perfectly fine going forward with Dennis Dixon as the Steelers starting QB. However, I am not willing to see someone's life ruined because of hearsay allegations and innuendo. The fact that you are willing to convict when the DA didn't feel he should even prosecute tells me you're not exactly a fan of things like justice and due process when they become inconvenient to you.

Yeah, corporate execs trying to sell a product are usually pretty protective of their brand image. At best, Big Rapist is a drunken buffoon with very little impulse control.

That's a problem. Whether or not you choose to recognize it is completely irrelevant.

In denial much Bri? :bode:

Did you even read the article Scott posted? What, not flowery enough for ya?

And yes, expect the Rooney's to lay down the punishment, one that will be agreed to by the commish. The quote that "Rooney said the team is prepared to discipline Roethlisberger now" pretty much says it all.

How do I define embarrassment & a disgrace?
"The Roethlisberger case has infuriated the Steelers."

“I have made it clear to Ben that his conduct in this incident did not live up to our standards,” Rooney said.
Aren't those your standards too, Bri?

Hmm, why would the owner say that if Ben wasn't charged? Oh yeah, because Ben is the face of the franchise, and has had two sexual assault allegations within a year ring a bell? The latest accuser hasn't filed a civil suit yet, so the money grubbin' whore angle is out.

As for convicting Ben, I never said he was guilty of sexual assault, I said he was dumb as a bucket of rocks for putting himself and the team in this situation. He's suppose to be a team leader, exactly what kind of an example is he to the rookies and other young players? Not a good one off the field, that's for sure. The bottom line is, if there isn't enough evidence, there isn't enough evidence.

On the record, not that it matters, I do believe he assaulted the young lady in this latest incident, and I'm not alone.

Here's what he did do, at least...he went into the bathroom with the girl and fucked her while his bodyguards kept her friends out.

Generally speaking, this is not garnering him much respect in Pittsburgh right now.

I find myself thinking that I don't care what a lunkhead he is, when the ball goes up...but this is building to the point where the situation will be a major distraction. I see the Rooneys cutting ties with him at some point soon...

He allegedly had unprotected sex with this girl and yet no identifiable DNA was on her?

Really? Are you that fucking credulous that you believe some girl hiding behind the cloak of anonymity when none of the physical evidence supports her allegation?

I still saw #7 jerseys and memorabilia available at the Steelers sideline store in Grove City for full price. And that was a day ago. If the Rooneys are embarrassed, that embarrassment hasn't extended to their merchandising operations.
