But those violations at scU-M were just a figment of the anti-Wolverine media.

I'm not surprised at all. When this came up at Michigan I know I mentioned that WVU should be investigated because Dick Rod shredded practice and weight training files when he left Morgantown.

yeah, uh, back to my original question: has this ever been substantiated? an anonymous accusation and then....nothing.

I couldn't access the original article. I will see if I can find it somehow.
I knew Coach Frey and Coach Smith pretty well while they were here at USF and they have never denied this accusation.

i thought the original was excerpted in the first link you provided. either way, an anonymous accusation about paper shredding in the only bcs program without computer records that, aside from constant rehash of rumor, has never been mentioned again. then again, maybe this will resurface again when wvu fails to account for practice time as well.

DickRod's general problem is being a shady fucker. Records were present according to sources within the program, then *suddenly* disappeared when he bolted outta town. I can't see their motivation for making that up out of thin air, but I can see DickRod's motivation for making a bunch of papers go poof since record keeping is obviously (still) an issue for him. But you're right. Nobody technically has video of him at Kinko's at 3 AM with garbage bags full of files and manila folders, burning up the industrial sized shredder. I guess all we can do is play the easiest game of connect the dots ever created while others keep their heads buried in the sand.

M Tard wants the burden of proof for Dick Rod to be held to criminal trial standards. Doesn't apply here, shitbrick. DickRod is as guilty are you are gay.

ja, i'll connect the dots right up to the cloak and dagger store where dickrod bought his black jumpsuit + ski mask and snuck into his old offices with a paper shredder. that or he nonchalantly sat in his old office at a job he left contentiously without anyone peeking their head in to see what he was doing. and again, it's rather convenient wvu would be the only university in africa yet to have begun keeping records on computer.
otherwise, i'm pretty sure there'd be legal repercussions for shredding public documents. just a thought. perhaps dickrod would be better served to start running fight club out of his football program instead.
or we can do stones and glass houses:
I can't see their motivation for making that up out of thin air, but I can see DickRod's motivation for making a bunch of papers go poof since record keeping is obviously (still) an issue for him.
wvu waged a rather vociferous public-image campaign against dickrod and you "can't see their motivation" for anonymous leaks from the wvu ad? maybe we can go to dinner and share a plate of sand.

apparently he forgot to shred the proof that his program was in compliance with practice regulations.
article.
Yes, by all indications, the examination has to do with former West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez, now at Michigan. The NCAA handed the Wolverine program a Notice of Allegations in February, accusing the school of five potentially major rules violations.
Which, naturally, would lead to Touchdown City, something we've now learned happened within the last 45 days - to no one's surprise. If the NCAA is convinced Rodriguez spurned rules in Ann Arbor, why would one think he followed them in Morgantown?
Of course, WVU officials identified this as a concern back in September of 2009, when the UM-Rodriguez story first broke. Our Dave Hickman caught up with athletic director Ed Pastilong, who indicated then his big house was in order. He suggested he and then-compliance man Brad Cox almost babysat Rodriguez's practices, almost obsessed over record-keeping.
So when the news broke, they double-checked their records and smiled.
"We looked into it,'' Patrick Hairston, WVU's assistant for compliance, said. "We're very comfortable no NCAA rules were broken."
I can't help but wonder how comfortable that position is today. There certainly seemed to be a lot of squirming in the practice facility on Tuesday.

I never said his program wasn't in compliance with practice regulations while at WVU.
By the way, from your article, this statement from WVU...
"We looked into it"
doesn't exactly prove their innocence.
I'm pretty sure the NCAA still has an investigation to conduct. And for the record my guess is nothing will be found. They've had ample time to get their shit together.
So who's your leading candidate for your next coach?
